I wish! That would be great! Won't ever happen but I'm for it. Healthcare is one thing I don't think should be making a profit. It make's your appointment like buying a car. I don't like my doctor in a business situation.
Except nearly every other civilized country in the world has universal health coverage, even countries larger than the U.S. We went to the moon using technology less sophisticated than the average smartphone. I think we can do health care.
Look at HOW they TAX to PAY for it. We should do the same:
Even a Latin American style tax system which you advocate for to fund a national health care system, with high VAT, low tax-to-GDP ratio, weak labor unions and extreme inequality, would still be better for ordinary people than a for-profit system where people can get denied and kicked off health insurance if the corporation feels like it.
Because you dont know the difference between average and median. So why take you seriously?
Sweden has more billionaires per capita than the US, and their poverty rate is higher that that of the US. They have a 25% VAT that everyone pays, and their middle class is in the top income tax bracket right along with the top 0.1%. What's confusing about any of that to you?
Selling more lies...They had the chance in 2010 to get something done, when they crontrolled the executive branch, and both Chambers in Congress...and they gave us that disaster of a bill i Obama Care
Thanks, but no thanks.
Socialized medicine isn't the answer
So why not go with a single payer system or universal healthcare? They aren't socialized medicine - you know they are different right?
1. its NOT 100% coverage...it IS a 75/25 INSURANCE that is extremely costly
100 billion in FRAUD, WASTE, and ABUSE in medicare out of a 700 billion budget
1/7th of the budget is wasted on fraud
in 1965 they said medicare would only cost 12 billion by 1990, it cost 3 billion to implement it in 1966
in 1990 medicare cost 107 billion
in 2000 medicare was 216 billion
in 2008 medicare was 456 billion
in 2016 medicare was 691 billion
what is even more interesting is what the predicted outlays will be in the future
in 2016 medicare was 691 billion
prediction for 2020....963 billion
prediction for 2026....1.383 Trillion
lets now add in Medicaid
Medicaid:
2000.....117 billion
2008.....201 billion
2016.....368 billion
actual Medicaid 2016.....368 billion
prediction for 2020....450 billion
prediction for 2026....616 Billion
so the prediction is medicare and Medicaid is expected to be over 2 trillion dollars is less than 9 years
that's just the GOVERNMENT costs of Medicare and Medicaid... and medicare/Medicaid covers less than 1/4 of our population.. on top of that you have the VA..and then what the PEOPLE are already paying for private insurance....do you really think multiplying the cost of medicare by 5 to cover 325 million people is so smart do you think the taxpayers can afford an additional 5-7 trillion dollars annually....where do you think the MAGIC MONEY is going to appear from
Now from those costs subtract all the premiums that individuals and businesses pay for health insurance today. My guess is it would be a wash, or at the end of the day savings would be found.
