I think they should stop playing the national anthem before ball games. I don't see the point. I prefer a prayer should be said, not the national anthem.

Why is the National Anthem played at a sports event between two American teams in the first instance?
I find it amusing that those decrying peaceful protest because it purportedly disrespects the flag have no problem with the NFL (with the consent and assistance of the armed forces) commoditizing the flag to drum up business for the league. What's more disrespectful, exercising the liberty the flag symbolizes by quietly protesting a social issue in front of it or using the flag as a means to prey on people's patriotic proclivities to induce them to empty their pockets in support of the NFL and its corporate sponsors?
