I commend you for not wanting to ban or legislate everything that you personally disagree with.

I wish more people on both sides would take the same position.

You seem to be confused about the intersection of federal law, state law, and the Constitution. What you are talking about would require a Constitutional amendment, not a new law.

Um what?? LOL. Yeah, that'll happen soon. If people were prepared at all, there wouldn't be almost 8 billion people in the world.

Why same sex marriage? Is someone making you marry someone of the same sex?

Why are you in favor of overturning same-sex marriage? Do you realize how many families would be hurt by that?

As a conservative, I will readily admit our stupidity on the subject of abortion and same sex marriage.

We lose our mind on these topics.

Less government means less government. It doesn't mean legislate the bedroom.

I remember John's grandmother telling me about her back alley abortion. It was done without anesthesia and a horrendous, dangerous procedure. Many women died. It was done during the depression. They already had 4 children and were crammed into a small house with his parents. Keeping 4 adults and 4 children fed when there wasn't any work was no easy feat. Was it irresponsible on their part for becoming pregnant? Should they be penalized for an accident? Will people stop having abortions is Roe v Wade is overturned? I suspect not. Who has the right to decide whether or not to carry a child? Some religious fringe or the individual?

I don't care. Marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman.

You have a right to believe that, and to, of course, decline to marry someone of the same sex, but why do you feel the need to impose this view on others?
