If I am walking my dog down the street will I be stopped and told I can not bring him to a Muslim area?
Dogs in Islam, as they are in Rabbinic Judaism, are generally thought to be impure.
For most of world history, dogs were laborers, economic necessities, hunters and street cleaners, not pets.
On the flip side, dogs were and remain bred for human consumption in South Korea and parts of Africa.
Modern Muslims and Jews understand the evolving nature of dogs as pets and have no issue with it.
Community patrols, regardless of their religious and/ or ethnic composition, have no legal authority in the US.
I suspect they are acting as morality police because that's what they do in their own countries, and they are not exactly paragons of assimilation. I also suspect that when they act as morality police, they don't write reports about it to the real police. I also suspect that since they wear fake police uniforms and drive around in fake police cars, they sometimes think they are the real police, or the only police that matter at any rate.
How about those street signs about gender segregated streets in Kiryas Joel, NY.
Reportedly, private citizens paid for and erected the signage. Local government had no issue with it.
Such signage is not enforceable. That has not however prevented the ultra orthodox community from minimally imposing social consequences on ultra orthodox people who don’t comply.
The community also strongly discourages women from driving and uses social coercion to enforce it. Like in large cities in Saudi Arabia, there is n religious basis for this. It’s a cultural thing.
Best not to even consider opening your retail store on a Saturday. You might find your window broken, repeatedly.
Many choose to lead their lives in accordance with their religious and cultural beliefs and laws. Modern Orthodox Ivanka and Jared Kushner had to get rabbinate approval to fly on Saturday.
We are fortunate that in the US, these cultural and religious laws carry no weight, beyond those who choose to live in accordance with them.

First of all, there are many Muslims who are native-born citizens of the United States. THIS is their own country. Secondly, the Muslims who live in the United States have generally assimilated very well. Thirdly, if they were acting as morality police (an assertion you have ZERO evidence for), people would be filing complaints with the police. And your fourth assertion, that they sometimes think they are the only police that matter is wild, and based purely on your own biases.

Assimilated so well that they need their own morality police.
Is this sort of like the Orthodox Jewish court in NYC that leaves it up to the man in their made up Jewish court if the woman gets a divorce? Those chained women in NYC? https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...icle-1.1085440
Or is it just a block watch? On steroids? lol
Is it like Sherrif Joe's posse who helped round up illegals?
The news story paints a picture that is unfavorable. They say most residents aren't happy about it, including Muslim residents. They say they have the same patrols in Europe and that they've harrassed drinkers, women with short skirts, gays and tell this to leave because this is a Muslim neighborhood while calling them offensive names. Can they really do this legally? Doesn't seem like a good idea. Muslims don't even want it. I'm amazed we allow it but then again , we allow posses and Orthodox Jewish courts.
