Absolutely! Ever been to Beaufort, SC? Decendents still on Lady's Island. Many islands still in possession but now with land values skyrocketing along the coast, many cant afford the taxes.

Yeah....I can image it would probably look like the carnage inflicted upon blacks the 90% of the time they have been in this land.
