FDR released 25 years of his tax returns.

JFK did not release his.

It was not until the 1970s that almost every president and serious presidential candidate began to release his or her tax returns. Although most release their returns, it is not mandatory.

Truman, btw, released 36 years of his tax returns.

2017, 2018 and now 2019. They have full legal ability to review.
Now, years prior? While he was a Private Citizen... No way in hell. That would be a 4th Amendment breech.

How are you backing your assertion that this “would be a 4th amendment breech”. You’ve yet to offer any legal proof.....

The IRS already has the information, the 4th amendment doesn't apply.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

You refute that statement?

What Branch of Government is the IRS working for? Legislative? Judicial? Or the Executive? Who pulls their strings?

This literally has nothing to do with the fourth amendment, no matter how many times you incorrectly claim so.

Furthermore, a law passed in 1924 gives congress the direct authority to access his taxes. It’s perfectly legal.

Quote:
[According to a law passed in 1924, in part to address concerns about conflicts of interest involving executive branch officials such as treasury secretary Andrew Mellon, the House Ways and Means Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and the Joint Committee on Taxation have the right to obtain from the IRS any person’s tax returns—including the president’s—without his consent and to conduct an investigation. If there is a legitimate purpose, the committees may then release the tax information to the Congress for potential disclosure to the public.

This article describes the authority of Congress, under section 6103(f)(1) and (4)(A), to obtain, inspect, and disclose the confidential tax information of any taxpayer, including the president, without the taxpayer’s consent. The authority may be exercised by any one of three tax committees: the House Ways and Means Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and the Joint Committee on Taxation.

Next argument?
That law only applies when crafting new legislation. What bill is being created that needs a single individual's tax return for research?
