The returns are likely to expose Trump's claim that he's a big philanthropist as a lie (along with many other lies). I will wager that the returns will show that Trump has donated virtually nothing to charity. Any takers?
Do you think that the above wold dissuade anyone planning to vote for him to not vote for him?
Yes, just because someone is in public office does not justify legally forcing them to divulge private papers.
We the people have a right to know what we're dealing with. Once you're in public office a lot of your privacy goes out the window. Other presidents have released their tax returns. Trump should do the same.
I concur. It is unreasonable. The police just can't go and demand that you or I hand over our tax returns or any other legal documents. No, they need more than that to justify a warrant/subpoena be issued by a court of law. Congress, as a branch of government, is no different. They need a smoking gun so to speak before they can get their hands on POTUS' returns.
Actually they don't. There is a law that covers this.

No President has been forced to reveal his tax returns. Did FDR put his out in public? Or JFK?
As someone has already stated don’t vote for him if it bothers you.

Yep. Since he had to dissolve his "charitable foundation" because of fraud, I would imagine he would have a hard time convincing anyone he is a philanthropist.
Who cares how long ago it was passed; abortion was outlawed in the 1800s but thanks to the Constitution and the right to privacy, the same exact 4th amendment, those laws we're struck down.
Your assumptions of what I would like couldn't be further from the truth. Radical leftists like you and the quote below showing your true colors, tolerance my ass.
You wonder why Trump is president? You guys have run us moderate Democrats off. You will hand Trump another term because we refuse to show up; we will not support the hatred you radicals spew.
I have little tolerance for rabid keyboard legal experts, most of whom never attended a college class, let alone graduated from a reputable law school. If you think that I’m a radical leftist, by comparison you’re so far to the right you’d fall off the stage. There’s no hatred in what I said. If you are not part of the pack of extreme libertarians and Neo-Confederates who infest this forum and want to undo 150 to 200 years of American History, you certainly fooled me.
