I know this for a fact because about 9 years ago, my state passed a strict immigration law that was well intended, but it ended up backfiring. We faced many boycotts and lost a lot of money as a result. But if you're happy with being a backwater, more power to you.
And states like Arizona have backed down too quickly in the face of boycotts. You will never satisfy the left. The left demands nothing less than open borders and unrestricted immigration and opposes and threatens boycotts over ANYTHING that opposes illegal immigration. Arizona simply wanted to protect itself from illegal aliens and yet gave in to out of state liberals.

I simply don't want this grave sin to be committed here. And besides it will be hard for someone from Louisiana to get an abortion because all of our neighboring states - Mississippi, Texas, and Arkansas - are all likely to have this ban, and states further out like Tennessee and Georgia will too. If Roe vs Wade is gone the closet state that may still have abortion would be Florida and even that isn't guaranteed. The Florida Panhandle is 3.5 hours from Baton Rouge, a little closer from New Orleans, but very far for people in central and north Louisiana. At least here, with very few clinics, abortion is not something that is considered socially acceptable and not something anyone would admit to. I have friends who have disowned their daughter for having an abortion for example and they are from a French Catholic background, not even the true Bible Belt. There are Obama supporting black Democrats who have done this as well! Many people outside the South do NOT understand our culture and our values or the importance of religion to us.

Being pro-life is also something that both Protestants and Catholics agree on here and they disagree on a lot of other stuff like casino gambling, alcohol laws, the lottery, etc but being pro-life unites various churches that otherwise would have friction. And as I mentioned earlier its also one issue that unites white and black voters. Catholics in Cajun Country are more liberal than Southern Baptists but still more conservative than Catholics from the North.

Do you stalk pregnant women to gauge their prenatal care? And how soon can I get your medical records so that I can go over them to make certain that you are not carrying any communicable diseases which might spread to others?

The right has hijacked a religion in order to push this BS pro life propaganda despite the fact that the bible is certainly not pro life either. You are simply anti-choice so stay the hell out of the wombs of women that are none of your business or concern Gladys Kravitz.

Actually, NY has become way more green since Bloomberg was in office and staying on that path which is the way I like it. Also healthier for kids when green programs are put in place and enforced. Because we in NY are not all about Save The Fetus/Screw The Child mentality.

Yes because they enacted the law during a slow economic recovery and Arizona is largely a real estate economy. The real estate market wasn't picking up in 2010/1. Add a law that wasn't favorable by businesses regardless of political affiliation, and you have a problem. What people don't realize is businesses both conservative and liberal don't like controversial policies like that, the tariff war or the new abortion laws. Maybe part of it is the boycott power, but then again conservatives claimed that it worked with the NFL (in reality it just crushed Papa John's) and will laugh about when liberals do it or complain when they work for liberals (like the end of gun sales.)

I'm telling you, Trump's America is gonna cause America to swing back to the left in ways nobody's gonna like but those that don't like it, have little to blame but themselves for going that far to the right to begin with. Politics is a pendulum and we have swung too far to the right. It's gonna swing back at some point. Perhaps 2020, perhaps 2024.

Say I need a bone marrow transplant. You're a match. I can just take it, right? What about your kidney? You only need one. Or a piece of your liver? After all, I have a right to life.

Bone marrow, kidney, and liver donation are less intensive and less threatening to one's health and life than pregnancy.

Yep. If you get a right to determine what I have to do with my body, I get a right to say what you have to do with yours. Seems fair to me.

Those people who believe that abortion should be illegal have no real life of their own, so sticking their fat little nose in some else’s business is all they are really interested in.
