Per the laws of my state, the shoot would meet the requirement of being under roof. Front and rear porches are considered living areas. It may or may not meet the requirement of identifying all residents of the house. Was this daughter living there or did she stop by in the middle of the night unannounced? Was this after curfew and she should have been home hours ago? Did she sneak out and was coming back?
Yes. Years ago we had a family emergency and our home phone was having issues so a family member drove over to notify us. He had a key but did not enter the house. He beat on my bedroom window and then ran back into the yard. When I turned on the outside light, his first words were "Don't shoot! It's me!" He knew how to properly get in touch with me in the middle of the night.
The article said it was her home so, yes, she likely lived there. I cannot fathom why the father would shoot through the door.
Shot through the door. What a moron. As much as I support the 2A and the right to self defense I have to say there are some people who have no business having a firearm. It's really hard to weed them all out though. Some you can spot a mile away. Others not so much.
This cretin obviously had no business with a firearm. You NEVER fire blindly like that. But it happens. "Hunters" who shoot into the brush because it was moving is a biggy. The brush is twitching, must be a deer right? . In this case the door is rattling. Must be some goblin trying to get in.
Gotta wonder if this clown wasn't expecting unwanted company.
the shooter was most probably in panic mode and therefore NOT in complete control of himself...AND i just LOVE hearing all the armchair gun people who were NOT in the situation lecture about responsible gun safety and such..
as far as i know many many gun deaths happen in EXTREME moments of emotionally charged rage or uncertainty at the least...it would be nice if we were all level headed...but then such is the mystic of the gun
