Hydro, almost exclusively. Wind as well, but hydro is like 95%.

Still better, CO2-wise.

Wind turbines and electric cars are an awesome match - turbines keep running at night, when the loads are low, but most EVs are parked and charging at night. Added load at night increases the ROI of wind turbines.

Boy that's a leap, do we have a declining birth rate in the US because of capitalism. The suicide rate is almost identical to ours, nice try. I see socialism is to blame for everything, even the weather.

Since you hate US "conservatives" so much, then set them straight. What is the effective tax rate in Scandinavian countries? And can you provide proof?

- pity, I guess?

And I was going more along the entire "government running most of their life" deal, utter balderdash. Having worked and paid taxes in Denmark, Germany and the US, I'm sort of in the know.

Anyway, have a look - an extreme example, with an income of $537K.

This of course doesn't have a column for the benefits of having reasonably well-run public services. Healthcare and retirement are rolled into the taxes. Norway doesn't solve their homeless problem by telling the homeless to go be homeless somewhere else. The Norwegian judicial system has a world-class recidivism rate. A Norwegian can start his own busness without his family losing employer-paid health care. That sort of thing - hard to put a dollar value on, of course.

On the other side of the coin, you have to put in a formal request to view someones tax return and the person whose tax return you are viewing gets to see all the requests made.

In most countries, data protection laws stop a lot of snooping, however you can look at company accounts and company histories, as well as Directors of Companies in many countries.

Only because it's true.

I will respect Norway for their belief that fossil-fuel cars are evil when they:

1. Stop their massive oil production
2. Give their ill gotten (oil and gas) gains to those they have harmed (everyone else on the planet)
3. as reparations, invite millions of illiterate Africans that have had their countries ravaged by Global Warming to come in live as welfare guest in Norway while native Norwegians work to provide them the type of benefits they are accustomed to.

Norway is increasingly seen as the envy of the world. It is FIRST place in the world happiness index. It is #5 in median income (U.S. is behind at #8). It has a debt-to-GDP ratio of -90.5 percent. In other words it has a national surplus, not a national debt.

Norway has obviously made a lot of good decisions. Now they are making another good decision by banning the sale of fossil-fuel-powered vehicles by 2025. Not the 2030 plan of Gov. Jay Inslee, which was seen as way too ambitious and radical but 2025.

Can someone please explain to me why we are not following Norway's lead????
What is Norway? Is it the Country that builds huge cruise ships for successful people to enjoy? Seems like you have taken it on yourself to define them.
