Right, because only white collar pros have great jobs and benefits.

People really don't notice that they're becoming obese and that insufficient physical activity and following the USDA Food Pyramid guidelines likely have something to do with it? I'm not buying it.

Well, I remember being taught 4-4-3-2 back in grade school in the 70's. It was a recipe for becoming fat. But people seemed to be more active back then and portions were smaller, so it didn't manifest itself as such until the internet age was born.

Me, too in the 60's. The Food Pyramid was just a later visual representation of that.

Because other countries have it. 'Muricans would rather suffer under a stupid system we invented than prosper under a system invented by furriners. See also: the metric system and the unpopularity of soccer.

About 52 million US people were 65 and older in 2018. This cohort is projected to double over the next 40 years.

That a heck of a lot of pitch forks aimed at any politician who dares to advocate for elimination of Social Security and Medicare.

By law, the trust funds ( surpluses) backing these programs must be invested in special issue treasuries which creates more $ for federal government to spend.

Sooner or later, the tax rate will need to increase and eligibility ages will advance.

Bush 2 ran on an intention to privatize Social Security. It was a miserable failure within his party and across the aisle.

They don't have it because it's not affordable due to the US having to pay for responsibilities no other country has as the global leader along with the worst illegal immigration problem in the world.

No country with that situation could afford universal healthcare.

That's a pretty bold and specific claim to not back it up with any sources.

Haaar! This from the country that did not abandon slavery all that long ago. You're a hoot!

You already are paying for other peoples healthcare expenses; that's the veritable definition of "insurance", not to mention Medicaid, but you're not getting anywhere near your money's worth … how silly is that?
