Even a very large chunk of republican voters do not feel this economy is helping them.
Who on earth is telling you that lie?
Quote:
"There is a 33-percentage-point gap between Republicans' (76%) and Democrats' (43%) reports of being financially better off today than they were a year ago.
There is also a partisan gap when it comes to optimism about one's future finances, though it is smaller than the difference seen in attitudes toward current conditions. Among Republicans, 83% say their personal financial situation will be better in a year, compared with 60% of Democrats.
Independents fall in between on both measures, with 58% saying they are better off now than a year ago and 76% reporting they will be better off next year."
lol So much drama so little time. I guess the media is everywhere so it sees and reports everything. Skews the perception from the numbers.
For the past 50 years the poverty rate has been basically the same between 12-16%
This is from 2009
Eighty percent of poor households have air conditioning.
Nearly three-quarters have a car or truck; 31 percent have two or more cars or trucks.
Nearly two-thirds have cable or satellite television.
Forty percent have a wide-screen plasma or LCD TV.
More than half of poor families with children have a video game system such as an Xbox or PlayStation.
Half have a personal computer; one in seven has two or more computers.
Forty-three percent have Internet access.
Ninety-two percent of poor households have a microwave.
"The average poor person is far from affluent, but his lifestyle is equally far from the images of stark deprivation purveyed by advocacy groups and the mainstream media."
"Since the beginning of the War on Poverty, the absolute number of married-couple families with children in official poverty has declined, but as Chart 6 shows, the number of single-parent families in official poverty (or lacking self-sufficiency) has more than tripled, increasing from 1.6 million in 1965 to 4.8 million today. When the War on Poverty began, 36 percent of poor families with children were headed by single parents; today, the figure is 68 percent."
But it's not like single parenthood is any big deal right??
I must live in a different world from the Democrat candidates because I do not see any poverty and doomsday scenarios that the Democrat candidates describe. If they're fighting against this current economy, I'd say that is a losing scenario.
So you start a thread saying you don't see any poverty, then just leave the thread?
Are you going to tell us where this Utopia is where there is no poverty?
America is a country with endless opportunities. Poverty is a choice in this country and generally goes hand to hand with drug use. Thats why California has become a third world state, left wing policies have incubated its own destruction. Want to lower the poverty rate? Build the wall and terminate Mexican and illegal drug smugglers.
Some places have food pantries. A lot of places do not. A lot of inner cities don't even have grocery stores for people who do have money to buy food. (Called food deserts)
Some poor people can't get to the food pantry for lack of transportation.

Trump's economy has not benefited the poor nor the middle class. We live in a wealthy area with many families who need help because they can't afford to live here. But where do they go? We give to our local food banks to help them. And honestly, we couldn't afford to buy the house we own right now.

According to stats - under Trump the middle class income has gone up around $4k and taxes have gone down about $2k compared to growth of about $1k under Obama according to CBS news data. The poorest quintile has seen wages go up more than any other group according to the federal reserve.
Try using real data instead of what you think, this economy is doing much better than the media wants to admit. If you couldn't afford your house now in a wealthy area, must be because the prices have gone up, sounds like a very vibrant economy.
