Even a very large chunk of republican voters do not feel this economy is helping them.

I must live in a different world from the Democrat candidates because I do not see any poverty and doomsday scenarios that the Democrat candidates describe. If they're fighting against this current economy, I'd say that is a losing scenario.

America is a country with endless opportunities. Poverty is a choice in this country and generally goes hand to hand with drug use. Thats why California has become a third world state, left wing policies have incubated its own destruction. Want to lower the poverty rate? Build the wall and terminate Mexican and illegal drug smugglers.
Some places have food pantries. A lot of places do not. A lot of inner cities don't even have grocery stores for people who do have money to buy food. (Called food deserts)
Some poor people can't get to the food pantry for lack of transportation.

Trump's economy has not benefited the poor nor the middle class. We live in a wealthy area with many families who need help because they can't afford to live here. But where do they go? We give to our local food banks to help them. And honestly, we couldn't afford to buy the house we own right now.

According to stats - under Trump the middle class income has gone up around $4k and taxes have gone down about $2k compared to growth of about $1k under Obama according to CBS news data. The poorest quintile has seen wages go up more than any other group according to the federal reserve.
Try using real data instead of what you think, this economy is doing much better than the media wants to admit. If you couldn't afford your house now in a wealthy area, must be because the prices have gone up, sounds like a very vibrant economy.
