As to the "up is down", rest assured it is all part of a plot to dis-stabilize this nation via a Saul Alinsky rules for radicals type of effort.
I suspect people like Soros and other globalists are behind it, knowing that our constitutional republic is the only thing standing between them and their dream of a new world order on a planetary scale.

Chromosomes determine sex. Everything else is window dressing.
Transgenders have a high rate of suicide, probably because they realize that after all the pain, time and money spent to become someone they are not, they are still unhappy. Their problem is inside their head, not their genitals.

But the real irrelevance is that SI still has a swimsuit edition. That should have ended years ago.
I think the thing that kept it going is they didn't even ATTEMPT to be PC. There was never a single move in that direction, which caused it to continue unabated.
Had they gone the way of Miss America, the SI swimsuit edition would have folded years ago. When Miss America tried to pretend it was anything but a beauty contest show, with a side serving of hoping to see a silly talent like mime or poetic interpretation fail. Or the holy grail, someone tripping descending the stairs or best case of all, an accidental mistake in the naming of the winner and first runner up, causing the MC to have to take the crown off one woman and put it on another. THAT's good television, right there.
When Miss America bowed to PC pressure, and stopped announcing measurements, and cut the bathing suit competition, and asked opinion questions and made sure the finalists had a demonstrable main-stream talent, meh. No longer entertaining.
That they never cared what the PC crowd was saying, was what kept the SI swimsuit edition alive.
I fail to see the connection you are trying to make between a transgendered individual and a pedophile...
One is a crime and a young victim. Being transgendered is neither a crime nor creates harm to victims.
I don't believe transgendered individuals really think in terms of making things normalized.. Most grew up knowing something was wrong with them and suicide rates among them are sky high is a reflection that. What they do want is the choice to live as they feel.
They are a very tiny percentage of the population... I don't think you have any worries about it being "normalized". But just because it isn't "normalized" doesn't mean they can't be treated with some respect.
Suicide rates are still high after they transition. Whatever is wrong with them is deeper than their perceived gender issues.
Putting a transgendered person on a cover of a primarily men's magazine that features women in swimsuits is attempting to normalize and sexualize them the same way as it does natural born women.
The only ones here being treated disrespectfully are the faithful long time readers of that magazine, mostly older straight men.
