Many Republicans complain about our education system not being funded enough (so our kids have a better future), the police not being funded enough (they do need more funding not to be de-funded), unsafe over the counter drugs on the shelf, unsafe food on the shelf, firefighters not being funded enough, our roads not being repaired enough etc. These basic public services and more that we all benefit from are paid for by our taxes.

From this thread and others, I see some republicans are ok with current tax law and loopholes and people taking advantage of them so that these basic services are not adequately funded and that the middle class takes the brunt of the tax burden. According to some Republicans, the wealthy skipping out on carrying their load through write offs and loopholes while the middle class picks up the tab is just the wealthy being "smart" and "savvy". And "good for them" (the President and other wealthy doing this).

Why are some Republicans ok with current tax law and the wealthy having and using loopholes to not carry their load like the middle class so that these basic public services (like the police) that we all benefit from are not adequately funded?

While I would love to see he and his whole family go to jail
I fear were about to get another "lesson" in how America works, sadly they will
never go to jail . Rich people around here never go to jail.

the very rich do not pay much income tax. Why? Becuase most of their income is nto classified as income. Sure they sometimes pay a lot on money that is classified as income. If you do not like the result of the rules, fight to get them changed, don't blame wealthy people for following them.
Kinda hard to "fight to get them changed" when Trump and McConnell are busy ramming through justices that would be hostile to more progressive economic policies. And of course both have their positions of power mainly because of the outdated Electoral College

1st thought: Does anyone believe anything NYT reports on anymore?

2nd thought: how did they get the tax returns?

3rd thought: so it begins...the demoKKKrats are now going to pull out all the stops to destroy Trump in any way they can (lie, cheat, steal: that is the demoKKKrats in a nutshell).

Disgusting Liberal Crybabies!

Earlier this year, ITEP reported Netflix and Amazon paid no federal taxes. Other companies on this list include Chevron, Delta Airlines, Eli Lilly, General Motors, Gannett, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Halliburton, IBM, Jetblue Airways, Principal Financial, Salesforce.com, US Steel, and Whirlpool.

Damn shame nobody GAFF about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, because partisan muck raking apparently supersedes individual liberty and those few written laws we have that still attempt to protect individual liberty.

Even crazier is that besides a handful of us around here, nobody seems to care about the individual rights of the citizen. WTH has happened to this country?
Did you have the same opinion when Russians hacked the Hilary campaign computers and Roger Stone interceded to get the information to Wikileaks for release?

Are the Trumps tax returns more sacred than info on a computer? What if the tax information was obtained by hacking?
