Yet you people have no problem with the same comparison in the US. It’s the best of Asians and Africans that you compare against African-Americans. But now you don’t like it when it’s Africans and Asians doing better than whites.

Noting the hypocrisy.

Why are you trying to wipe out other people’s history then? For Black people with a heritage here, slavery and Jim Crow make up the majority of their history in this country. They aren’t talking about a 5 yr period but hundreds and hundreds of years of their history.

White people freely speak about their heritages here in the U.S. but don’t want anyone talking about theirs if it makes it uncomfortable. The Civil War was a short period and yet they all talk about it. Can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen going on about their ancestors in the war and that’s a blip compared to slavery.

You don’t get to stamp out other people’s heritages because you feel like it. This country already did enough of that and you need to stop that tradition.

Personally I think it frames you as victims. Sorta divisive in the scheme of things.
Why would having Black History Month frame Black people as victims?

Does Asian Pacific Heritage Month frame Asian and Pacific Islands are victims?

What about the months for Hispanic, Jewish, Irish and German Americans?

Just be honest and say you don’t mind hearing about other people’s history but you don’t like hearing about Black American history. But it’s nothing but hypocrisy.

You people? Neither mtl1 or myself have criticized African-Americans for not doing as well on average as selected African immigrants. Nobody who understands the situation would.

It shouldn't, but obviously it does, especially this year.

Well, I wouldn't say jealousy. However, being hateful is part of it.

Yes, they did.

African Black culture was one of slavery, for thousands of years before the Atlantic Slave Trade even existed. Other culturual aspects were polygamy, the celebration of various rituals, etc. But you already knew that.

Quote:
"Europeans were not able to independently enter the West and Central African interior to capture Africans and force them onto ships to the Americas. Instead, European traders generally relied on a network of African rulers and traders to capture and bring enslaved Africans from various coastal and interior regions to slave castles on the West and Central African coast. Many of these traders acquired captives as a result of military and political conflict, but some also pursued slave trading for profit.

Scholars provide various explanations for why African traders were willing to supply enslaved Africans to Europeans for the trans-Atlantic trade. By the early sixteenth century, slavery already played a major role in some western and central African societies"

Slavery was their culture. It's how they lived. It still is in some areas of Africa, to this day. According to CNN, the latest estimate is that there are currently 9.2 million slaves in Africa, FAR more than there ever were in the US.

Yep. And by the Democrats who en masse vehemently oppose school vouchers and school choice. You've all seen the proof of the huge race-based achievement gaps I've posted. Blacks are about 30 percentage points behind whites in 12th grade Math and Reading proficiency levels. Jim Crow Democrats to the rest of the US: Can't let those uppity Blacks get a decent education, don't you know... They might actually start achieving and competing with white Americans.
