Maybe it would be helpful to consider the timelines involved in just 2 of Mr. Trump's legal battles against the United States & American people?
The various Trump "University" lawsuits began in 2010 & were not settled until 2019.
The fraudulent "charity" lawsuits were resolved a tad more quickly, filed in June 2018, they agreed to shut it down in December that year. Unsurprisingly what with its shocking pattern of illegality ~ there was no way for him & his family to defend the indefensible:

Yeah. He should have if he had the evidence. Is he a Hillary fan and didn’t want to get on her bad side? If the evidence was overwhelming there should have been a case brought against her. I mean, he was the potus.
