Well, this is surprising to nobody who has been paying attention for the past year, as long as they haven't been paying attention to the paid liars in the MSM and the Democrat Party.
As more and more ACTUAL science comes out along with the data we ALREADY know, those of us who knew all along that the COVID-19 response was purely political are being proven correct.
The overreaction was simply a means for the Democrats to change voting rules, mail out millions of ballots, and blame Trump for the pandemic. Unfortunately their plan succeeded at a cost of destroying millions of American lives. They got away with it.

Lol, exactly the opposite, the flu is much less contagious so the Covid counter-measures have literally decimated it.
lol, there are literally decades of actual scientific studies that prove mask usage by the general public is not indicated for aerosolized viruses like the flu.
I went out to eat at busy times. Our family was also exposed to covid at least twice that I know of, close prolonged indoor contact and we still didn’t get covid. Very strange considering how contagious it is said to be.
It depends entirely on viral load, even after you’ve been vaccinated. It’s now known that there’s not much spread outdoors, if at all. Most of the cases are from aerosolized particles whether that’s from sneezing or coughing or yelling, whatever. The viral load is also important in that the higher the viral load that you’re exposed to the shorter the time frame that you need to be exposed before it can take hold and get past your initial immune response. So you can be vaccinated for two weeks with both shots and someone who is infected and at their most viral point could spit in your mouth and you can still get COVID-19. Maybe if they just cough in your though you’re good. There’s also no real need to disinfect everything you can see and there’s actually not much concern with transmission via touching something like a railing or doorknob.
Masks did absolutely nothing. The studies all said they did nothing, and Fauci and the CDC initially stated this. But then, all of a sudden, they changed their minds and wanted everyone to wear them.
I think they war gamed it out, and determined that forcing people to wear masks would anger everyone and give a Biden a better chance to win the election.
At this point, the only reason we aren’t back to normal is because a lot of people prefer to live the way we did during this fake pandemic.
