I don't feel bad for him or anyone like him. In fact, I hope he has outrageous medical bills for the double lung transplant. You are free to live your life as you choose, but you will pay the consequences of your actions.
I don't know if he should be on the hook unless his attitude was particularly egregious. After all the US government led us to be in this situation to begin with. They were willing to throw citizens under the bus for us to roll the dice just to save the government a few dollars - And didn't even think of shutting down before the virus mowed through the elderly and other vulnerable populations.
The fact that citizens have to choose between experimental vaccines and dying early is not a good choice. Vaccine hesitancy isn't the same as being an anti-vaxxer.

Pfizer is fully approved through the FDA, no emergency authorization. What's experimental about it?

Not quite.
"The FDA expanded the emergency use authorization in May to include teenagers ages 12 through 15.
No coronavirus vaccine has full, FDA approval at the moment."
Life goes on as normal for the 60% of the population that will regularly receive boosters. And the 40% who refuse vaccines are just going to be exposed to ever more deadly and contagious strains of Covid.
I don't know if there's anything we can do at this point for people that won't get a vaccine.
I'm sure against closing down businesses again. Let the people who still think COVID-19 is a nothingburger and wearing masks is a joke have the burden in proving to us that they're right. I don't care how sick they get as a result. Everybody else should still have the right to protect themselves from the virus by wearing masks for starters.'
Marketed as a face covering for exercising, the Sportsmask has been a popular product since its launch last year.
The European Commission has published a safety alert regarding the mask, because it contains the chemical polyhexanide (PHMB).
The alert warns that ‘PHMB is harmful if inhaled and may cause an allergic skin reaction. By inhalation, it causes damage to organs through repeated exposure and is also suspected of causing cancer.’
Like every other 'plague' that has run its course in the world. You get it and become immune ... or die. Either way the virus eventually runs out of hosts. The only other choice is you hide in your 'castle' until it goes away and hope it doesn't come back.
And just as a recap. A virus does not care what you believe when it comes to religion or politics. It does not care where you live or what kind of work you do. Right now, over 97% of the people getting COVID are not vaccinated. So, good luck.
Mortality (deaths) vary by country but at its peak, COVID deaths averaged about 8% with a high of about 15% in Spain pre-vaccine.
The current world population is about 8 billion. 15% of 8 billion is 1.2 billion. It may be cruel, but some days I think 1.2 billion fewer people in the world just might be a good thing. The USA share of that would be about 50 million. Again with no vaccine.
Is it something like object permanence for folks older than 2 years old? Something like event permanence for those > 2 years old?
Quote:
Piaget's Theory
The concept of object permanence plays a significant role in the theory of cognitive development created by psychologist Jean Piaget.
In the sensorimotor stage of development, a period that lasts from birth to about age two, Piaget suggested that children understand the world through their motor abilities such as touch, vision, taste, and movement.1
During early infancy, babies are extremely egocentric. They have no concept that the world exists separate from their point of view and experience.
Apparently some folks resist growing out of the "extremely egocentric" stage of 2 years olds.
