Making abortion illegal again won't make it go away. It's been around since ancient times. We just became a more civilized country when we made it legal.
That really doesn't help the women who can't afford to go out of state for an abortion.
It is also not going to appease middle and upper class women who are not going to accept that they have to be inconvenienced to fly to NY, CA or IL or make an 8-10 hour road trip to get a simple medical procedure.
Not like they will feel like shopping on Rodeo Drive or 5th Ave or taking in a Broadway Play.
They may do it if they have to, but there will be hell to pay. It's almost like the men involved in this war on women have never met a woman lol.

Third trimester abortions are restricted. Not done on a whim for non medical reasons. Late term the mother, and or baby has life threatening medical issues. All which is between the woman and her doctor. Only 1 percent of abortion is late term.

Majority of abortions are indeed a simple medical procedure no more complicated than a colonoscopy.
Third trimester abortions are rare and almost always involve horribly tragic situations. Like mothers diagnosed with cancer during pregancy and forced to choose between treatment and abortion.
Or fetuses with horrible deformities that will mean if they are born they will suffer horribly. Usually, their lives are short, but caring for these children can bankrupt a family while at the same time psychologically devasting them.
You really should know what you are talking about before you call someone an extremist. You are clueless to the tragedy that is involved in 99.9% of third trimester abortions. Shame on you for using these women, their children and their families to make a political point.
Why take a break? Politics shift back and forth. The alliance between the Alt right supremacists, evangelicals, conservatives and angry blue collar men won't hold forever. United under Trump they know the window is open for a short time. They will ram every bit of their agenda through in 4 years when president Tucker Carlson is sworn in.

Exactly. Most third trimester abortions are wanted pregnancies that doctors conclude cannot be successfully delivered for serious issues related to either the mother or the baby's life.
It is truly heinous that so called pro-lifers use this argument as a reason abortion should not be legal and available to women.
The revulsion I feel for people that would use these tragedies as a political talking point makes me want to vomit.
Continuing an unwanted pregnancy IS a huge economic issue.
Recent research shows otherwise that its not a huge issue. Most people aren't paying that much attention to the current case and even those who do don't fully comprehend that it could overturn Roe v Wade.
The idea that you can take rights away from people without facing a huge backlash is ludicrous.
So, once again, if Republicans are smart, they won't enforce their new abortion ban laws and punish women or other people who violate them, such as doctors, before the Nov. 2022 elections.
I can easily imagine the backlash if a single woman with three kids decides that is enough. No more. So, she vows never to have sex unless birth control is used. But it fails, so she gets an abortion and is charged with murder. She pleads not guilty but is found innocent and has to go to prison for let's say 35 years. Her 3 children are sent to foster care. But I would find it hard to believe any jury would subject a woman and her three kids to such a verdict. Maybe it will be hard to find a jury willing to send a woman with a good background to prison over an abortion. But somebody may want to bring up that people have gone to prison over fetal homicide laws.
I predict states that most support the death penalty, such as Oklahoma, will take the biggest chances with triggering backlashes, even before the 2022 elections.
