That might be a rule of thumb in the South, but it isn't in some parts of the country.

Plenty of Republicans are pro-choice.

Plenty of people are neither Republicans nor Democrats.

People are pro-choice.

No one is pro-abortion.

But they can on women who preform an abortion on themselves ...

A jury trial ruled against Patel on Monday, on charges of feticide and child neglect. Patel is now sentenced to a minimum of 20 years — and maximum of 70 — in prison."
That case was overturned on appeal by Indiana Appeals court saying it was a misuse of feticide law.

State didn't retry.

https://time.com/4476036/purvi-patel-feticide-release/

They upheld the child neglect saying the state proved the baby lived for a few seconds but hadnt proved her failure to seek medical help for the baby caused it to die.

Ordered her to be resentenced from 3-18 months and then ordered her to be released because because she had already been held for 18 months.

I guess the Indiana Appeals court judges dont know anything about the Equal Protection Clause Theory

Women trying to self abort is a horror and tragedy. Keep abortion legal.

It didn't matter that it is legal --- thus the point.

According to all the judges ruling on it you can.

"As women’s presence in government has increased, so too has their ability to shape legislation." the Susan B. Anthony List and 79 women serving as state legislators around the country

Women are not going to be duped by a bunch of men, like they were in 1973. Seems to me people arguing against updating the laws on abortion are the ones trying to keep (women) everyone in the barbaric dark ages.

This must be the lie:

"Because of the substantial changes that even a minority of women bring to a legislative body, there is no longer a need—if there ever was—for this Court to assume that women cannot adequately protect their own interests through state political processes."

Medical science has advanced; maybe it's time we advance, as well.
They are lying from the get go by branding themselves as somehow having the same pro-life agenda as Susan B Anthony did. SHE DID NOT have any pro-life agenda.

Once you tell me a whopper like that, I don't care what else you have to say.

Which basically works for an against women at the same time. A woman seeking retribution for harm caused to her unborn fetus will be hard pressed to find it, unless the power to prosecute is returned to the States.

So equality only works if it is equality as defined by ... ?

"Marriage never will cease to be a wholly unequal partnership until the law recognizes the equal ownership in the joint earnings and possessions. The true relation of the sexes never can be attained until woman is free and equal with man. Neither in the making nor executing of the laws regulating these relations has woman’s had the slightest voice. The statutes for marriage and divorce, for adultery, breach of promise, seduction, rape, bigamy, abortion, infanticide—all were made by men." Susan B Anthony 1895

126 years before a group of men handed down, roe v wade ...
