Who's fault is it that Kabul and Bagram was sacrificed to the enemy to prevent a large scale civilian withdrawal?

Bagram SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN VACATED (even today). That base could have been maintained with minimal expense and no casualties (as had been the case in the prior year). Maintaining Bagram would have prevented the Taliban from taking power, as the Afghan army did fine with American air support and intelligence.

Only an idiot forgets to evacuate civilians prior to a military withdrawal. Mussolini, another idiot, forgot to contact his merchant marine vessels prior to his declaration of war in WW2. As a result, 1/3rd of the Italian merchant marine was captured immediately in foreign ports.

Idiots do stupid things; Biden is a once in a generation idiot who will continue to move from disaster to disaster. He will make "democrat" a dirty word in the 2022 and 2024 elections. The only way the dems will win is to institute massive fraud again.

When retired special operators were able to sneak in, get their interpreters and their families out under the governments nose while Biden was screwing many at the Kabul airport...something that only someone who has worked on a 12 man team who is specially trained in stuff like that could do. That in itself should tell you quite a bit.
Then again, I guess it takes someone who was and still is close to that community to truly understand.

the fiasco continues.

"DHS chief says of the more than 60,000 people evacuated from Kabul and brought to the United States, only 3% are Afghan special immigrant visa holders, which include interpreters"

Demolibs can't be bothered with this type of thing until terror attacks start taking place on American Soil. At which point they will just do what they've always done at that time, blame others outside their own political party for it.

They need to ship them all back, and go get our ones that do qualify to be here.

In a Pew survey, over half the Afghanis believe suicide bombing is the correct way to handle being wronged. Over 92% want Sharia law.
Their culture is not compatible with ours.

That's the general doctrine of the Wahhabi doctrine promulgated by Saudi Arabia in the West as well. Fortunately, most Muslims in the West are living too easy a life to be militant, but that's what they're being taught.

My questions were rhetorical, obviously. We are talking about 10s of thousands here. Yes, it takes time to understand how numbers work.

Lol. We should have been out of the country long time ago. Thousands of lives and trillions of $ ago.

Sacrificed to the enemy? Do you realize that 300k Afghan army folded in days literally with no resistance. Perhaps next time we should not be installing corrupt and inept governments?

In regards to that: multiple esteemed posters on this thread have claimed that a tremendous number of civilian contractors was needed to support the remaining military there. So chicken and egg type of thing. My opinion is different - most should have left long long time ago, after that deal was done, and more recently the do not travel warnings were given

So you wanted us to remain in Afghanistan to support Bagram and Kabul because the Afghan Army wasn't going to protect those bases. How many forces were going to remain in Bagram surrounded by the Taliban and what would be there mission. I doubt anyone wanted to sign up for that death wish.

Keep smacking that head maybe you'll come around. So many military experts on this site.

We should have never been over from day one really. Bush2 screwed up and took the ball off the hunt for OBL and had to go back 2 Iraq and made up lies to do it and broke two countries and spent trillions and killed many of our peeps for nothing.
