Elon Musk is not an African immigrant. What African language does he speak? People of African descent are not all black. Africa is a continent, it’s not a skin color.
How is there no such thing as a South African-American? There are Nigerian-Americans. Ghanaian-Americans etc. Stop trying to deny Africans’ cultures/origins from them just because you may not know your own.
White people call themselves Italian-Americans, Irish-Americans etc.
Asians call themselves Korean-American, Indian-Americans, Japanese-American etc.
No one is speaking about who is Black. People who ONLY hyphenate with the entire continent are those who don’t know their origins (don’t have particular country of origin w/ which they identify).
Calling black people African American is just dumb, youre Americans.
Do you say that to Asian Americans? Calling people “black” is dumb. There is nowhere called black. Neither is everyone you call “black” an African-American. You don’t know where people are from by just looking at them.

How do you know who hasn’t been to Africa?
There are people born in the U.S. to African parents. They go back and forth to Africa from young children. Some of them raised there for years. But because they are born in the U.S. and Black they are fake? They know more about Africa than you ever will.
Talk about clueless. You’re angry at people who you don’t even know, trying to strip them of their cultural connection, just because you and your kind threw aware your culture for racism. That’s no one else’s fault but YOURS.

What are you talking about. Elon Musk is probably culturally more American but most South African's speak English. African immigrant has no unified cultural origin. South Africa itself is an amalgamation of cultures. But South Africans not only have an accent, but food, clothing and cultural practices associated with their country which Elon Musk often doesn't show. But theirs's a very real connection with some of his antics and South African culture.
I know tons of African immigrants, we don't share cultural affinity at all, speak different language have different foods, ways of talking, ways of dressing etcetera.

Actually, that makes him South African, or ex-South African, like me. Africa is not a country remember. The term 'African' denotes the Bantu people. Egyptians for example are not African even though they are in Africa. Quite simply, they are not Bantu. Same with the Hottentot or Kalahari Bushmen, collectively known as Khoisan. Khoi being Hottentot and San being Kalahari Bushmen (same basic group but one is pastoral and the other, hunter gatherer - that'll be the San who live in very arid regions). But they are not African, even though they are the oldest group of humans in Africa (and the world). Interesting people they are.
