As for affordable housing. May have to pass a law where one person can own no more than 3 personal homes or 10 rental properties per state, and a corporation can't own no more than 2 apartment or condos in the entire country. We have monopoly laws on the books and they should be used to keep all of our precious land out of the hands of the top one percent.
Of course you're joking. Can you believe there are people in the 21st century who are so poorly educated that they haven't learned the lessons of 20th century Marxism? I wonder what your thoughts are on where this sort of class warrior mentality comes from? Is it just pure under-achieverism? Is it really as hack and victimy as that? The formulaic socialist profile of ignorance and envy? I used to think people would have too much pride to admit that they were going nowhere in life and had to resort to begging and voting for politicians to coerce others into carrying them.
I see the same thing! Wtf are 75 year olds who are worth millions and millions still going to work at 730am everyday.
Because a number of older Americans recall times of legitimate deprivation the likes of which younger people cannot/do not understand. Thru that they have a work ethic that most younger people simply do not.
I’m in my 30s….think many people want marijuana legalized, free healthcare, free college, affordable housing, etc.
Not sure if marijuana should be legalized, but if the US closed its many military bases around the world and stopped its endless wars, then, without a doubt, every American could have free healthcare, free college, affordable housing, etc. And there would still be money left to update and improve the civil infrastructure.
One where I can actually get a senior position because all these boomers just refuse to retire. I thought the golden years were supposed to involve not working.
LOL. That's also what boomers thought the golden years were supposed to involve but unfortunately it didn't work out that way for them, much to the disappointment of working seniors. Do you understand that seniors aren't working because they want to, it's because so many of them still have to work if they want to survive?
Actual 18-40 year olds won't actually get to have kids or a mortgage. That is already real.
Speak for yourself.
I'm 34 yrs old with a mortgage and kids in one of the most expensive areas of the country. My generation complains too much, doesn't put in the work, and expects to live a cushy life without much sacrifice.
Some things I'd like to see in the future, off the top of my head:
-Immigration returned to a fair process with illegals booted from our country for violating our laws.
-Smaller federal government with smaller overall tax burden. States being the ones to run the show. For the most part I'd love if our government would leave us alone and let us live our lives.
-More moderate political views across the board. We've become so polarized as a nation that weird ideology is being allowed to fester (transgender nonsense) and people want to steer our country away from its roots.
-Personal responsibility being a thing again. Make bad choices in life? That's on you. I'm tired of giving a million chances to people who just can't get their lives together. Social safety net is one thing, just being a total deadbeat is another.
-Stop meddling in foreign affairs so much. Take care of our citizens and their needs first.
-Would love to see a return of the nuclear family. Seems a lot of problems stem from kids growing up in broken homes- crime, lack of morals, poor life choices such as joining gangs or getting involved with drugs or other vices.
I am 50 so I am in the generation that always had to pay for the boomers actions.
I want to see.
- major changes to housing in this country.
a. Less rental properties.
b. a real examination of zoning as it seems to have done little to make layout better and only seems a way to give rich people the ability to do things while stopping the poor.
c. Smaller housing forced on developers. No one needs a 5 bedroom McMansion any longer.
- a Major change to health care.
- no more corporations telling doctors how to treat for their better bottom line.
- A complete head to toe revamping of employment laws. Starting with "at will employment" - when employment becomes a life line for everyone it can't be -- I can fire you for any reason.
- Kicking out the vast majority of illegal aliens and cracking down hard on people who are internal enemies to this country.
- Complete destruction of the current educational model in favor of cheap on line classes.
- Complete revamping of the criminal laws -and justice system. In favor of crimes that really effect people today and in favor of locking up anyone dangerous and, if that means we have to build 500 more prisons, so be it.
Ah, the dreaded "No one needs..." has appeared. Nothing like forcing your ideas on others, eh?
What about large families? You think they should all be crammed into small houses? Why?
Where are we supposed to get the money for free healthcare and college?
Easiest way is to figure out a way to Confiscate it from the Boomers. They are surely working on that.
The older Boomers learned from The Greatest Generation.
Our parents lived through the Great Depression, went to War and taught us the lessons of both.
My kids are Generation X, Grandchildren are Generation Z. Not a single poor Millennial in the family, but we do have two ‘Honorary” old Hippies who never grew up, so maybe that counts.
My oldest makes more money than we ever did, pays for his kids to go to college (no loans) as we paid for our kids. We are already transferring money to our kids so they don’t have to wait until we are dead and gone.
I’ll transfer every penny before I allow the Government to Confiscate it in the name of “equity” for those who think it’s just not FAIR that we WORKED & SAVED for what we have.
We taught our children the lessons our parents taught us … my fear is that I’m not sure they are passing on that knowledge. Every Generation makes their own decisions.
