DeSantis is doing just fine by the state of Florida.
You may think that DeSantis is perfectly fine to Florida but that is far from the case. Do not believe the narrative that DeSantis and his fellow power hungry politicians are giving out. Already there are those who are starting to see how harmful and dangerous DeSantis is to Florida.
Perhaps in the weeks ahead you will wake up and see what's happening as well.
I remember the original concept of Epcot which it never became but is there a link that shows this was its sole purpose as you state?
It isn't my job to do your research. If you're in a thread debating a topic, you're expected to be aware of the history of that topic.
Anyone with any knowledge of the history of Disney should be able to figure it out. Reedy Creek was a way to conglomerate all the land that Disney had clandestinely bought in '64-'65 and make it developable. The plan was for Magic Kingdom and Epcot City to be built on the land.
Have you never watched the promotional video that Walt Disney did about 2 months before his death in order to encourage people to contact their legislators and push for them to sign off on it? If not, you probably should. After you watch it, ask yourself if Disney is anything like what Walt envisioned for it.
Residents in two central Florida counties could be responsible for a large tax bill after Governor Ron DeSantis signed a measure that eliminates Walt Disney World's special improvement district.
On Friday afternoon, DeSantis signed into law a bill to dissolve the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a special district that came into existence in 1967 that allowed Walt Disney World to essentially self-govern, according to Reuters.
As a result, residents of Orange and Osceola counties, where Walt Disney World is located, could become responsible for the district's liabilities of between $1 billion and $2 billion, which could lead to potential double-digit tax increases for county residents.
On Wednesday, Florida's GOP-controlled state Senate passed a measure to remove the special self-governing status from Walt Disney World in that state by a vote of 23-16. On Thursday, the measure went to the House, where lawmakers voted 70-38 in favor of dissolving the Reedy Creek Improvement District.
Yeah raising property takes and giving Disney a big tax break will definitely stick it the the libs I thought Republicans were against raising taxes?
Could you please explain how they would even happen - Disney gets a tax cut and the Floridians get the bill? Nothing in your post or link explains anything.
When you post something like this, I would expect you have got the information to back it up.
DeSantis already has a history of raising taxes. No surprise he did it again.
In 2021 DeSantis raised taxes in the amount of $1 billion on all Floridians for online purchases. DeSantis used this tax money so businesses don't have to pay as much money into the unemployment compensation pool.
So now DeSantis has raised taxes on Floridians a 2nd time in 20
22 by having local taxpayer's cover Disney's $1 billion dept plus $20+ million annual budget.
DeSantis loves to raise taxes on people to cover the expenses for businesses. He did in in 2021 and again in 2022. See below for the 2021 tax increase.
Ready to pay more? DeSantis signs online sales tax law. Tax on Florida consumers will allow tax cut for businesses
Gov. Ron DeSantis late Monday signed into law a plan to require out-of-state online retailers to collect sales taxes on purchases made by Floridians, with the estimated $1 billion a year in revenue going to curb a pair of taxes on Florida businesses.
folks, a new playbook page has been disseminated.
FL, like (almost?) every state has started collecting sales tax from online purchases. I say almost because the article I just googled in 5 seconds said by 2020 all but 6 states had it. Obviously, it's at most 5 now.
So yes, Floridians can no longer order off Amazon and avoid sales tax.

you're in New Brunswick Canada, I assume?
go ahead and tell us some specifics, not just this obtuse prediction of sinister action to come.

Exactly how many Floridians have you polled or talked to? I know snowbirds from up north here as well as have family and friends that live in Florida - they are all satisfied with him.

Nothing says "power hungry" politicians better than the state government asking a multi billion dollar corporation to pay taxes like all the other businesses that operate in their state.
Where the ? was about Democrats and the taxes corporations pay? And you responded by talking about voting rights?
There seems to be some confusions about conservative/liberal/democratic/republican stances on a number of interrelated issues. Like this reply:
