Not gonna happen. There is still going to be a special district - Disney just won't be running it and misappropriating the tax revenues to subsidize private expenses.

If this actually goes through next year, this is just DeSantis passing out bills as fast as he can for the November election to inspire the right wing crazies. No one really believes this will take place, legally or financially. But in the meantime he will be praised by his far right wing.

There is no "if". Disney/State of Florida or Disney/Osceola and Orange Counties will reestablish the RCID in accordance with the Florida Constitution.

You apparently haven’t traveled Florida if you think it’s ugly.

Also, it’s hard to appreciate an entity which inspires 4 hour traffic jams during tourist season and is too stupidly expensive for the average person to visit.

The aren't going to dissolve the district, they can't legally dissolve the district and Reedy District is in compliance. Thinking otherwise is just some fantasy for DeSantis supporters that think he has some supernatural power and can change this agreement because he doesn't like their political stance.

Then you don't know Florida politics very well.

In Palm Beach County, there is an area called Loxahatchee Groves and The Acreage. When these places were being designed and laidout, there was a contract that the Loxahatchee groves could not be subdivided to no less than 5 acres per resident and the Acreage no less than an 1 1.4 per resident. This was designed to keep the place rural.

Well, about 50 years later, a large orange grove called Anthony Groves was being taken over by canker, and decided to sell his large plot to a Canadian developer called Minto West. They already got the local government to pretty much destroy the contract of keeping it rural so they can build a 6000 home gated community and a 800 residential apartment. They people who lived there tried to fight it but money always wins in the end. Not to mention that most of the government is democrat and they finally found a way to chase the redneck white man out for good and replace him/her with New York city folk, or section 8 housing..

Default Disney tax break untouched

Looks like DeSantis is talking out of both sides of his mouth. Dissolving Reedy Creek puts the tax burden to maintain on residents of Orange County.

However the 578 million dollar tax break from the state to Disney goes untouched.
