Damn. I wish I could offer encouraging words. I wish I could tell you things get better, but I just do not see any evidence for that. Many simply will not make it in the coming years. They will be consumed by the suffocating, demonic phantom of despair, pulled under to drown. I hope you are not one of those people.

Eh it's too much work to be employed full time and try to have a social life at the same time. Feels like we're working more for less and not getting anywhere. It's tiring and defeating. All I really want to do is sleep as much as I can.

In my view, I am an utter failure and compete waste of space.
Perpetuating your family's name is all well and good, but what really matters is perpetuating the values that you hold dear. And there are certainly ways to do that, in addition to passing them down to your children. If you think that your values are valuable, and you pass them along to society as a whole, you are not a failure.

Guys and Gals still go through a number of rituals before getting down to business. Nothing new. Only the topics have just changed. Do you support Johnson and the Vietnam war? What are you views on BLM? It's all part of the "getting to know you" process. Nobody really gives a ****.

No it is not a false equivalency. What do you think prostitution is? You think prostitutes want to have sex with any nasty stranger willing to pay. Personally if I am not sexually attracted to someone the thought of them touching me intimately is repulsive.
You stated making prostitution legal would provide jobs to WOMEN who are unemployable. You are assuming women can just sell their bodies to anyone willing to pay. Yet when you think of men, yourself especially, you are revolted by the idea. Do you not think women are also revolted by the idea. Do you not know there are tons of male prostitutes.

So you have a no male policy. What about the fat, ugly, smokers your spoke of early on. How about the stinky, creepy women with odd fetishes.

So we have this thread of men whining because they need and want sex and women aren't putting out enough so maybe they need prostitutes or porn or something and then we have the threads about banning abortion and how women shouldn't be putting out if they can't be 100% certain they won't get pregnant. Doesn't anyone else see the hypocrisy?

The one consistent factor is other people telling OTHERS what they "should" be doing. Not just worrying about their own actions.

Oh my. That’s a difficult place you are in my friend, and my best wishes to you in finding peace. And that’s really the key I believe, finding peace and acceptance, with acceptance perhaps being the most important if not also the most difficult part most of the time.

Many years ago I stumbled upon some amazing material that made a greater impact on me and my relationship with life than anything I had discovered before, or since. And that was over 25 years ago! It transformed me and my understanding of life, which not only helped me understand past difficulties, but provided me with the understanding needed to cope with whatever hardships and challenges that were sure to come along in the following years and decades. This was ultimately the foundational understanding which I have since relied on to find peace and acceptance with whatever difficulties life presented.

That material, the first authored by Dr. Brian Weiss, titled “Many Lives Many Masters”, led me to the second author of several similar works by Dr. Michael Newton, and his two books … “Journey of Souls” and “Destiny of Souls”, which I highly recommend to everyone, whether they are facing hardships in life or blissful smooth sailing. The good news is that all of it has now found its way to audio versions that are free on YouTube, which I will place links to at the end. I highly recommend you take the time to give it a listen, and if it doesn’t resonate, nothing ventured nothing gained, since it doesn’t cost a penny. I purchased those books back in the 90’s, and have given them as gifts from time to time over the years. Now, anyone can access them in audio version for free!

To make a very condensed synopsis, a medically trained conventional Psychiatrist had a patient who he was making no progress with in helping her overcome debilitating anxieties and phobias, resorted to hypnotherapy in order to uncover any childhood traumas that might explain her troubles. And what he accidentally uncovered was past life trauma. Now, if you don’t believe in such things as past lives and reincarnation, that’s OK … Dr Weiss didn’t either. He was a conventionally trained, mainstream medical professional. But his experience changed his mind on the matter, so just give it chance. The second material I found to be not only the perfect follow on, but absolutely ASTOUNDING. There have been many who have delved into the topic of past lives other than Dr. Weiss, but up to that point, no one had uncovered what Michael Newton discovered …. the life between lives. Yes, that time between one life and the next … or for the lack of a better definition, your time in heaven, which is used to review your life just completed, and also to prepare for the next one!! Fascinating stuff, and the most compelling thing is that there have been hundreds and hundreds of patients from all walks of life who recount the same exact experience in this life between lives.

The part which had the most profound effect on me personally, and what may be of most comfort to you is, the part about the selection and preparation for the next life, which each of us get to choose the exact details and experiences that this next life will bring … there is no force, and you are not compelled to do anything. It’s like being at an amusement park in which you may choose which ever ride you wish to experience next, be it a mild merry go round, or an extreme roller coaster experience, or none at all, and the choice is all yours.

There are such profound implications here, none the least of which is that God isn’t doing anything to you, nor has God or life abandoned you. Every experience, good and bad, and every challenge and hardship are choices you chose to experience before you entered this latest experience of life. You chose them … with full knowledge and understanding of every detail, ahead of time. This not only eliminates that “victim” thing we all feel sometimes, but also identifies these challenges as having an important purpose to our personal development goals, rather than being random events of cruelty and pain life decided to unfairly attack us with.

The bottom line is, none of us are victims of anything other than our own lofty belief in our ability to cope with the challenges we chose, in order to satisfy our sometimes overly aggressive desires for advancing our soul’s experiences. I find this to be enormously helpful in accepting whatever comes as a consequence of my own choices, rather than viewing hardships as a form of punishment or bad luck that I don’t believe I deserve. It also leads me to sometimes ask myself, what the hell I was thinking when I chose that particular event to endure! LOL.

I hope this helps ….
