Are things like this even newsworthy anymore? It's Illinois. They love crime and criminals so this should only be expected. It's really not news. Just assume that increased crime is the norm now. Just don't visit if you value your life.
Give me a freakin' break with your vitriol when so many have died. Some people have no shame or compassion. No wonder this country is in the shape it's in. Seems even people dying isn't enough to at least stop the hate for just a minute.
Right wingers always make up excuses for when "one of theirs" goes on a mass killing spree. The latest one is "They were just mentally ill" "We'll get them some help"
But if it's not, oh man, watch out for the 24/7 hellfire propaganda from the right wing media.
I've seen many left wingers protect the BLM protests despite the loss of life and violence - both sides do it but you seem to forget that - I'm reminding you.
And then you gave me a link describing prohibitions on specific types of firearms. Thus, it is not illegal to have a gun in HP. It is only specific types of guns which are prohibited.
There were dozens of “good guys with guns” at this event and the guy escaped after shooting more than two dozen people, killing at least 6.
How many more good guys with guns are needed?
Same thing with the Dayton shooting. The shooter was killed within 30 seconds of shooting by police and still managed to kill 10 people and shoot another dozen. That’s basically impossible with a knife. Sure a bomb can cause that much damage and a lot more but it requires months or even years of planning, constructing the bomb, and you need the technical knowledge to develop such a device. Car attacks can also kill plenty of people but you need a large crowd in order to cause damage, you can’t just ram into an elementary school or postal office and expect to cause a large amount of damage. Knife attacks rarely kill more than 4 or 5 people and are usually pretty easy to take down. Arson attacks are also deadly but the extant of damage is almost impossible to estimate.
That’s why guns are different, they are specifically made so that any ******* with some money can buy a "high powered semi-automatic rifle" or just steal/borrow one from a family member like we’ve seen in so many cases.
It’s also not like the guns on the streets are illegally manufactured in some underground factory either, 99.9% of them are built in legal factories and bought by legal vendors. Most “illegal” guns are bought from vendors who have connection to a legal market or stolen from absent minded gun owners or gun stores themselves.
I’m just tired of the disingenuous suggestions that guns aren’t the issue, when if you look at these events and the amount of people harmed in a short time period. Someone with a knife would be hard pressed to harm as many people and the types of people doing this probably don’t have the patience to build a bomb.
"High powered semi-automatic rifle"? What did he use? That rules out an AR.

Show me examples of mass shootings and killings from BLM protests. Go.
As much as BLM sucks, it was originally for a good cause(protesting police brutality).
You think this represents the entity of republicans’ thinking?! How adorable!
Democrats are a criminal organization headed to the grave. As an independent, I will never vote democrat again. Bunch of control freak Marxists who want to burn this country down. They’re trying to start a dumpster fire. They will fail.
The Democrat party should be labeled a terrorist organization, IMHO.
