In New York City and state, it definitely IS that way.

That's because the majority of voters in New York like it that way. They love being ruled by their corrupt politicians.

I do too, but the only problem with that is the taxpayers will get stuck paying the bill and Bragg will be hailed as a hero of the Left. With donations pouring in he'll probably end up being a very wealthy man. At the very least they may even elevate him to a judgeship? You're forgetting this is New York. Where right is wrong and wrong is right. I used to live there, nothing would surprise me.

Sad state of affairs when many in our society willingly want themselves to become victims. It really makes no sense to me.

That is why the state has fallen on hard times. It once had 47 electoral votes; it now has 29.

Are they allowing a go-fund-me for the Bodega worker?

Guy seems genuinely upset by the whole thing and was sad the guy died and apologized to the mother for her loss. The guy clearly didn't want to kill anyone but when you get attacked and defend yourself in the heat of the moment things happen.

I've no sympathy for NY taxpayers.

They keep electing these morons and keep bending over.

That's why I left NY more than 20 years ago.

Proportionality is facet of the use of deadly force in self-defense.

So when confronted by a young perp using his fists, an 80 year old woman can only defend likewise?

How is this relevant to the case? If the assailant had pulled a gun and shot the storekeep, would he not be charged with murder, because initially he had only yelled at the guy? I really hope that you aren't a lawyer.
