Global peak oil extraction was reached in 2018. Shortages are coming.

Sure, just like the fantasy this thread was based on, only 25 days of Diesel supply back on October 23.

Boy do the MAGA heads have some bad predictions. Always hoping for the worst and crying wolf.

MAGA again??? The OP literally used a link from Bloomberg to support their claim

Can you bother to explain what Trump has to do with any of this???

Bloomberg is creating clickbait.

Supply is down 15% over the 5 year average this time of year. And down 3% from last year.

No, the U.S. isn’t going to run out of diesel fuel in 25 days

The metric that Fox News host Tucker Carlson cited measures diesel fuel supply if refineries stopped producing oil and the industry stopped importing it.

The fantasy was easily debunked. See, it’s like saying my grocery store only has enough hamburger to last a week, therefore in one week we will experience a shortage of hamburger. But of course the store will purchase more hamburger before then, and the refineries will produce more diesel fuel before the supply runs out. As I pointed out in November, there was only a 22 daysupply of gasoline; that didn’t mean we were in danger of a gasoline shortage.

So what you're saying is, the OP's thread title may have been correct?

If the USA had a 22 day supply of gasoline, it's not hard to fathom we could have had a 25 day supply of diesel. Some people will spin it, as they do with every bit of news on TV. Everything has become politically charged and hyper partisan ever since Trump came along and TDS became a thing. The sensationalized stories are what sell. Nobody wants to hear about boring news anymore, and Tucker, CNN, and the rest cater to their audience and give them what they want. Well, not CNN, since they no longer have an audience...

Seems to me the story was a piece of raw meat and Tucker seasoned it to make it extra tasty for his audience. So basically, typical partisan mass media behavior that we have come to expect.

Everything is fear porn if you look at the worst possible scenarios.
