To reduce the amount of heat used, you need to coat the windows to retain heat. Supplement with kerosene heaters if you can; many can't.

I grew up in a shack for several years that just had a wood stove. We had to cover the windows with blankets and such until you didn't feel any cold around the windows. We had to check the windows and add a layer if there was cold. Not visually appealing, but it kept me from freezing to death.

I think it was obvious from the start that they stuck Kamala in there just to keep people from getting rid of Biden knowing she would take his place. Do you really want Kamala as President?

She doesn't seem to want to do anything, so it might be better if someone is not doing anything versus someone who is intentionally destroying things.

It's a tough lesson to Dem voters that Dem politicians NEVER think through the consequences of their policies and actions.

Just a few examples...
  • Overspending: necessitates overprinting $$$ which results in inflation, and that harms the lowest income groups the most.
  • Biden's promise to "end fossil fuels" and his subsequent policies that hamstring oil production/refinery: results in families having to spend $1,000/month to by oil to heat their homes. That, too, harms the lowest income groups the most.
  • The student debt relief giveaway in which the working class has to pay the professional class's student debt even though on average those with college degrees earn $30,000/year MORE than those with just a high school diploma, again, harming the lowest income groups the most.

wow.

i moved into a house ~13 years ago that had fuel oil as the sole heat source. i don't know how much i was burning per day but it didn't take long for me to decide to put in wood and coal stoves, and i heated exclusively with those for the next decade.

and that was when fuel oil was only around 3 bucks a gallon.

So what does Biden need to do?
Stay in his basement (or treatment center for dementia), wait for the Red Tsunami in 2 weeks, let Republicans pass bills to correct his ineptitude, sign the Republican bills if he still is able to write.

3) Sanctions on Russia.

We explore for O&G and play in the commodities gas everyday. Per diesel the above is correct but there is more to it.

1. There really is a worldwide shortage of diesel.

2. Bulk buyers are paying premiums for quick delivery (this is always a bad sign sometimes referred to as backwardation). IOW those who can are hoarding - just as gas is always in short supply before and after gulf storms because people keep topping off their tanks - the yield is short supply, some going with little or nothing.

3. Due in great part to a combination of anti-refining efforts by our friends on the left, weather, and insane localized policy especially on the west coast, but the east coast too we cannot refine enough of anything on either coast.

3.1. I'm working from memory here so the detail might be off but I'll be close.....during covid 13 refineries closed, I think 6 of those served the west coast. A few have partially reopened as best I can tell we are down 5.

3.2. The net is have lost about 1,000,000bbls per day capacity.

4. There is incredible demand for US diesel in Latin America.

All excellent points. Thanks for your contribution to the discussion so we can all get a better idea of what's going on.
