The Pelosi October surprise helped. Paul, Nancy, SFPD, and that lying SF DA worked hard to play on people's compassion and convince them that a vote for a Republican is a vote for political violence. All the talking heads said we were on the slippery slope to fascism.

I think we can say at this point that abortion and Donald Trump have weakened Repubs in certain states. Remove those two issues and its a total Red wipeout.

Still in a year where the Supreme Court just overturned Roe v Wade and the con-man Trump still controls the party, the Repubs should be utterly unelectable. That it appears they will score a mild victory tonight, points to something very wrong with the Dem party, that requires serious critical introspection and ideally a leadership turnover.

Absolute nonsense. Doesn't reflect anything. Nobody in Colorado Springs would vote against Boebart because of Pelosit. Same in Georgia, PA...come on.

You folks are grasping at straws.

I made a thread here recently about how the dems need to go the way of British Labour and have a "soul searching." Unfortunately a red ripple will not cause that and I expect the rabid dems to double down on wokeness.

1994 GOP ended up with 230 House seats. Look how much it's changed since 1994. NJ and WA were red. A lot of TX, FL, SC, other parts of the south were blue. Almost all of SoCal was Red, except parts of LA.

I have avoided watching tonight. Too stressful. From the little bits that I have heard, it sounds more like a blue wave? If that's the case, then illegals are voting and people are dumb. That is all.

I'm talking about independent swing voters, not party members, and I didn't specify Boebart's district. Yes absolutely there were voters who fell for the Republicans-don't-condemn-political-violence-enough spiel, or the narrative that the GOP generally supports supports election deniers. Sara Haines on The View is an example. She said she's an independent who's voted for both Democrats and Republicans but democracy being at stake/political violence/mayhem trump all other issues including the economy.

LOL! You’re kidding right? The only reason the Republicans didn’t win in a landslide was Trump. Abortion mattered too, but Trump was the real anchor around the GOP’s neck tonight. And the Dems deserved to lose too. This was an easy win for Republicans and they blew it by nominating so many election deniers and Trumpeteers. My God, OZ lost to a vegetable for goodness sake.

DeSantis killed it in FL. That’s the future of the GOP. If he gets the nomination he’s definitely going to win. If Trump gets it we might be stuck with four more years of Biden/Harris. Trump is one and done. Let’s move forward.

I agree with every word of this.
