I'm also quite sure that if Palestine had F-16s, US cluster bombs, night-vision scopes, and pilotless drones, etc. they wouldn't resort to suicide missions.
The Gaza Strip is now the largest concentration camp in the world. The situation grows steadily more insufferable for the 1.5 million Palestinians who live there. Deliveries of food, medicine and fuel are made difficult or stopped altogether. Child malnutrition is increasing. Water supplies and drainage have ceased to function. Children die for lack of healthcare. Tunnels to Egypt, dug by hand, are the only breathing space. Journalists and diplomats are denied entry. Israel is planning more military efforts.
The whole civilized world is calling for the blockade to be lifted.
It is a terrible situation and after reading the fourth article of the Geneva Conventions several times, it is hard for one to conclude anything here but the use of collective punishment. However, as far as the US goes, it doesn't matter what the rest of the world thinks, the US has never really been concerned with what the world thinks. For the majority of Americans, as long as brown skinned Muslims die, then great. If enough die there will be no "Palestinian problem" and the occupied territories will only be occupied by those still alive and I suspect none of those will be Palestinians. We have a term for this course of action that we use when Christians, Jews and secular folks are treated in such a matter but when it is those pesky Muslims, we call it successful foreign policy.
