I don't think it's about personal freedom or self-entitlement issues. I think it's all about ignorance, racism, and misplaced pride.
There are so many kids in the south and Appalachia with teeth rotted by drinking Mountain Dew that it was a scandal noted in the press. There is nothing quite like kids crying with toothaches that spells personal freedom.
It's not about socialism or communism, those are simply the new N words being used by vicious politicians and vested interests to poison the well for our new president and maintain their fat profits under the status quo.
It's about the quality of life for all Americans and providing basic dignity for one and all, not just those who can afford it or those will generous employers.

How is the health care "SYSTEM" being proposed socialistic OR communistic?
It is the continuation of the status quo where insurance companies can deny people coverage, they can deny claims, they can raise your premiums as much as they like, etc.
The health care bill doesn't change the system at all. It's still fee for service, it's great for the rich and sucks for the poor.
We don't have a health care SYSTEM, we have a health care MARKET! If you have money...step right up! It's the best "system" in the world. If you're poor, take a number and we'll think about treating you.
It is run by the government. Our government is not supposed to be running anything but the government. People can choose which insurance company they want to deal with or they can form a co-op with friends and choose none of them at all. My husband worked for a national comany that found out it was cheaper to be self-insured.
There should be no health care bill in the United States of America Congress. The constitution does not allow that. Is is socialism pure and simple and we are not yet a socialist state and some of us are going to see that it does not happen.
Key words here are "Government helps start up." I said you would not understand and you certainly do not. Health care should be a personal thing and the government should have nothing to do with it. I have read many books. I worked in the library for 28 years. Maybe you need to read some and make better choices on what you read if that is all you know.
Guess you must not be old enough to remember Russia and its communism taking over many nations. Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Just don't take my grandchildren into communism with you. I will fight it with all my being as long as I live and anyone who knows anything about communism will do the same. It is an evil thing.

If you're talking about single-payer or socialized medicine, you're right but that is NOT THE SYSTEM BEING PROPOSED BY CONGRESS!!
IT JUST HELPS PROVIDE SUBSIDIES FOR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE!! That is it, that is all!! The insurance companies maintain their fat profits and they can keep denying people's claims if they become very sick
It is just an expansion of private health insurance, nothing more, nothing less. Government FUNDS will flow to PRIVATE FOR PROFIT companies. That is not socialism or communism.

Many people today don't choose what insurance company they have, their EMPLOYER chooses the health insurance company. Unless you're lucky enough to have an employer that lets you choose from a wide variety of health insurance companies...you don't pick much.

Define "Christians". Are Catholics Christians? How about Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, Unitarians, etc?

The health care bill being proposed is not single payer or socialized medicine. It just expands private health insurance by providing government $$ in the form of subsidies to help people who can't afford private health insurance obtain it.
Now I know the people on Fox News, the GOP, and all the other propagandists out there will tell you it's a "government takeover" of heath care but it helps to do your own research.
