To the contrary. A guy who can cry is a guy who is secure enough in his masculinity that he can allow himself to show emotion. He hasn't bought into the macho crap. Women hate the macho suck-it-up brainwashing. This doesn't mean women like crybabies, but under appropriate circumstances, crying is...well...appropriate.

What nonsense. I wouldn't respect a man so pathetically "macho" that he stifles back tears no matter what the circumstance. So a man whose mother is brutally butchered by gang members is supposed to just remain stoic? A man whose 5 year old daughter is kidnapped and disappears is just supposed to "get on with life?"

A man who can't or won't cry for just cause has major issues and should be avoided like the plague. Any well-adjusted, happy and normal man cries when he experiences tragedy or a sadness.

Duh!
What's really sad is that guys are so confused about this issue that they have to ask about it on forums.

Default You must never cry in front of a woman if you want her to respect you

Rubbish...

I'd rather have a man with some sensibility than a stoic a-hole.

I know this is old but it's totally not true. Whiny complainers get no respect. Crying shows her you're human. Now if it's just some chick you're dating, I don't see why you would be crying around her anyway.

Most likely a WEAK woman would not like it. If she thinks men are superior- ie, a Sheikh-of Araby mentality but if she is compassionate, ENLIGHTENED and strong she wold recognise him for what he probaby is, a man who can feel.

Depends what a man is crying about. There is nothing wrong with macho and not crying like a baby about things that are not important. Myself if I thought about the general shape of the world and started to cry- I would drown in my own tears- so I don't cry.

Yes I have wept for those who have died and were considered bad guys..people that I knew were mis-understood during their life times- to me that is tragic and worth the tears.

The last time I saw a grown man cry..was my older brother...a family member had just died..I went to sit with my brother- His oldest son had what it seemed- committed suicide. THAT was worth the tears- I have never seen a grown man so destroyed- He was literally sweating blood..the tears were no just form his eyes- they leaked from his skin- It was horrific to witness- such cold absolute sorrow.

I don't cry in public. I was raised not to.

However, with what has happened to me in the last year or so, I had some pretty valid reasons for bawling my eyes out in private, and I did.

I already covered this in my earlier comment about women not wanting crybabies. You didn't seem to get the gist of the comment.
