The last time I went to Subway, I actually got hit on by one of the chicks there. She wasn't bad looking.

She was teasing me because I'm a pretty big dude and I only ordered the six inch instead of the footlong. My reponse was, "I hope you're not trying to tell me that six inches is too small."

She laughed and blushed, but I didn't pursue anything beyond that. Not because she was a "lowly Subway worker," but because I'm not sure she was even 18!

Sorry, I kept thinking about this post and chuckling. I mean, if this gal's already got the hots for him, and he's "too good for her", that almost seems a little cruel, doesn't it? ....leading her on like that?

I'll give Antonio the benefit of his social preferences, coz I'm pretty much the same way. Except that I discriminate in other ways

My logic - I have a promising career/income to live prosperously. So I can even take a stay at home mom. But what I'm very particular about is a pretty woman with a sense of fashion, taking care of herself and a general air of being a coquette, so that my family and society takes comfort in the fact that I didn't bring home a dull woman, but instead a doll. Ever since I was born, one of my ambitions was to marry the hottest girl in town, am not compromising on that one

The OP is different, he applies the same logic but in a professional way. Working in subway is not the greatest thing, but then I'll be okay with it, and the OP isn't. Different preferences but same logic.

We cannot fault him for it.

Ah....but at the same time, he thinks she's good looking, but it doesn't sound like he's had any sort of "meaningful" (investigative) conversation with her, eh? So, how stupid would he feel if he found out that she's nearly finished with an incredible professional degree and is simply making some money to pay off those student loans, by working at Subway, while she's finishing up her college education?

**Deep sigh**....alas, he won't know until he talks to her though, will he?

I actually agree with that.

Last winter, I'd wake up and see Mexicans shoveling snow for the uppity folks who are asleep inside. These guys would start at 5 and do all driveways.....

I was stuck and couldn't get to the gym anyway, coz everything was snowed in. I actually used to join them several mornings during weekends and shovel with them. To the casual observer or driving person, I'd have been an illegal alien shoveling snow

Absolutely right! If the person driving by, didn't know you and didn't ask you or someone who DID know you, you would have simply been another "hired hand" shoveling snow.

Yep. I call shenanigans.

OP, you annoy her. I can't imagine why.

Or maybe, "Gawd, I can't wait until I'm done with undergrad and get into med school and pass the boards, just so I can get at this condescending, whiny jackanapes with a scalpel."

She is quite attractive, not that I'm thinking of actually going out with her since, well, she works at Subways. I'm sort of searching for someone to settle down with and I'm a professional and I want a professional spouse too, and working at Subways is not quite there.

Now, here's the issue:

Every time she attends me, she always sighs.

What the heck is that about?

I can understand if she sighs once a while, but every freaking time?

I'm not that bad looking, plenty of people have commented on how handsome I appear to them. People are always staring at me, which is no longer an issue (learn to live with it).

I never go to the Subways with a grumpy face, a scary face or with an attitude; I'm always nice, always order the same thing, always smile.

Why the sighs??????

If she doesn't want to make sandwiches for people, maybe working at Subways is not the best thing!

But she only sighs when she sees me! It's proven.

I go there when nobody is there and she sighs!

I go there when its packed and I'm first to be served and she sighs!

I go there when its packed and I'm last to be served and, you guessed it, she sighs!

And she only sighs when she sees me!!!

What the hell is going on????

I've search the internet for a possible solution, but there are like a million explanations. Maybe women here would be able to give me a much more accurate explanation, especially if you have the habit of sighing every time you see one particular person.

Why the sighs?!

BTW, I know I can just go up there and ask her, but that would be sort of rude, I think.

What is going on?

Thanks in advance.
She probably likes you. But you sound snotty and neurotic as hell.
