I've never been married before, but I did come close a couple of times. My highschool girlfriend and I were hoping to get married, but her college graduation and career moved her to Texas in 1979. Sharon and I met at the beginning of our junior year in high school, in 1973.
My second girlfriend, which I also came even closer to marrying, I met her in late 1979 playing racquetball, and we were a perfect match for each other, but as my luck would have it, her mom passed away from cancer in 1985, and it affected her and our relationship a great deal a year and a half later. In 1987, she decided to move back to San Diego with her brother to take care of personal matters that had to do with her mom's passing, and she was supposed to come back, but she never did, so we gradually drifted apart, even though we stayed in communication with each other for a while. Long story.

I know she would still be the same today. I also know she did get married sometime in 1990. I heard it from one of her ex-roomates that shared a house with her and her brother. I saw her ex-roomate in 1994, and she mentioned it to me.
I met my DH on line. He is English and lives in the UK, I lived in CA. After about 4 months of online and on phone constant talking he came to CA and we spent 9 days together. A month later I quit my job and took second on my condo and went to the UK for 4 months. We went on holiday to Spain and got engaged. I went back home and we had a 5 month long distance relationship with one visit while I sold my condo and got my visa sorted. Then I moved to the UK. I have been here for 5 yrs. We now are married and have a son.
