I got my medicare card in the mail yesterday. No one warned me about that. OK, I know I signed up, but still.
Anyone else have the knack for composing really solid responses to heated threads just to push submit and see that the thread is closed? Happened again in the "why are women disappointed with their marriage choices" thread. Oh well, it was a ****show from conception to the end, so I guess it's for the best.

I feel your pain. It didn't happen to me on that thread, but I know the feeling.

It seems to happen to me on posts where I actually take some time to formulate a thought out reply.
Many of my posts tend to be more off the cuff.
Reminds me of our medical insurance cards. At work they changed insurance providers again and I don't recall seeing new cards come in the mail yet.

When that happens to me, I feel like it’s my lucky day! Get to live a bit longer on CD.

I'm not sure that makes you or me lucky
But actually that recognition that the guards read all our stuff has already motivated me to be, I don't know, kind of nice, which is really hard enough and kind of nauseating. And then all that effort and niceness and nausea goes for naught. It's just a lot.
I'm a kid from the 80s and I think back to Prince's 1999 song and way back then as a kid and I thought it was so far away, now, it's seems so far away again.
Crazy how time flys.
I just saw a meme that said that we're closer to 2050 than we are to 1990, and that hurts.

I like to think it’s someone I really offended so they follow me around reporting me. Sort of like an assistant, ya know? Be on your best behavior if you have one.
We are almost dug out from the snow. It's funny, we only got 8 inches, and then down to below 10 in the evenings, so not like what happened in the NE around xmas. We all lost power for a bit, but quite a few still don't have it back, and probably won't for another day or two.
So as soon as we can, will be running errands for neighbors, and offering a place to shower, cook or whatnot.
Another quick storm tomorrow, then a bigger one thurs.
I know 8 inches isn't much (that's what she said) but we can't open our gate, and most of the neighbors have super long, steep driveways.
Lesson learned. We will leave our gate open the next two storms, just in case.
You are good, caring, loving folks. Good for you.
About 30 years ago, we usually got 8-12 inches of snow, a few times each winter. Now, some winters we don't get any snow....Times have changed. Weather has changed.
