We got covid during the delta wave. I also got the vax after the fact. It turns out that the efficacy rate is lower than we knew at first, but for a lot of at risk people it really is something to think about getting.

I hope that everybody had a good Christmas! We spent a chunk of ours visiting Dad in the home, which isn't the best place to be on the holiday but he was happy to see us, I think. Yesterday I took my son up to Payson and we found a very nice little hiking spot. I love the drive up 87, and the park we went to was super pretty. Weather was perfect, too. In the 60s.

We are dealing with...stuff... /sigh... Trying to get access to family money held in trust for this exact purpose, to pay for help with Dad's care when he comes back home, and a couple of very minor accessibility renovations to his home. Wells Fargo is giving us the runaround. Like we have asked them, twice, to tell us EXACTLY WHAT THEY NEED for us to get my husband the access to use the money for this. Their legal dept has given us two different answers, and when we went above and beyond with two different solutions, all nice and notarized and whatnot, this last time the lawyer they got on the phone said, "I dunno...that sounds kind of vague." Vague? Vague??? Woman! You face is vague! Your mother's vague!!! AGH! (my internal monologue, which I later shared with my husband, behind the cool veneer of my totally straight face.) I am frustrated because they are the ones being vague. We have been the opposite of vague. So anyways, she's gonna check with her higher ups and get back to us. The problem we've got here, is that Dad is not really mentally incapacitated, and as far as they're concerned, this means that there should be no issue with him just coming down to the branch to fill out papers in person. But because he is recovering from injuries in a home right now, that IS a problem.

And Dad's take on all of this? He thought that all of it had been taken care of years ago. Does not understand why there is any issue going on at all, and gets confused and upset when we try to explain that the bank isn't cooperating.

I need a nap.

Happy New yrs.

I'm a kid from the 80s and I think back to Prince's 1999 song and way back then as a kid and I thought it was so far away, now, it's seems so far away again.

Crazy how time flys.

Happy New Year! Had a hard time staying awake until midnight. Had 2 glasses of champagne when the clock struck 12 and was probably asleep by 12:20. Lol
Andre let me sleep in this morning and made breakfast for the kids. The kitchen looks like they had a food fight. Thanks…I think. Lol

I had fun with the family last night. Kids had party horns and hats and we drank wine while they had little glasses of sparkling apple juice. Whooped and yelled at 12 am and danced out in the rain for a bit.

Today has been a very lazy day, watching a marathon of Las Vegas.

We are almost dug out from the snow. It's funny, we only got 8 inches, and then down to below 10 in the evenings, so not like what happened in the NE around xmas. We all lost power for a bit, but quite a few still don't have it back, and probably won't for another day or two.

So as soon as we can, will be running errands for neighbors, and offering a place to shower, cook or whatnot.

Another quick storm tomorrow, then a bigger one thurs.

I know 8 inches isn't much (that's what she said) but we can't open our gate, and most of the neighbors have super long, steep driveways.

Lesson learned. We will leave our gate open the next two storms, just in case.
