Ugh....job searching is such a drag. Getting frustrated.

Call tomorrow, tell them you’re really interested and wondering if there’s any update on the decision timeline.
Good luck!!

I am too. I think you will find something soon. Did you upload your resume to job search engines?
It helps recruiters find jobs for you too.

There's a man who's really hurting (both emotionally and financially) over in the Personal Finance forum. Within his thread on the forum, he is currently laying out his plans for his demise down to where his wife and child will live after his death to the date and method of self-execution.

He seems pretty dead set on suicide at this point despite all of the financial (and other) advice that we've given him on the forum. I wish that there was something that could be done to alert someone in his "real" world to his plight. He said that he's told his wife that he wishes to take his own life, but according to what he's written, she's dismissive of his intent.

Given what Dissenter's gone through with the recent death of his friend and my own emotions regarding the suicide of a former coworker of mine with whom I was close at one time, I find it to be very disturbing and upsetting--not least of all because the poster truly believes that his wife and young daughter will be better off financially without his living presence in their lives.

I can only hope that some of the advice that he has received sinks in, changes his mind about suicide in the next four to five months, and that he's able to claw his way back to wanting to survive and see his daughter grow into a woman.

You can report it to one of the heads here. They can check up addresses.

I'm right there with you - the last job I applied for at least had the courtesy to send a 'thanks but no thanks' email, the others have just been radio silence.

We just got to keep going. Are you using Indeed? Are there other online job boards you use?

My brother said the same thing. I was thinking of calling or sending an email.

I'm on indeed and glassdoor. I'm just kinda bummed because the way both interviews went (they were at the same place) they were dropping so many hints that they wanted to pick me (discussing pay, benefits, they even took me on the tour of the office for crying out loud.) Especially considering I went to that college for so long. Ugh oh well.

I took my life into my hands last night and had one of my sons drive us across town to this cool steampunk coffee shop that I really like...and the other son drive us home.

"But did you die?"

No, no one died. We did have a scary close call though when my younger son did not spot a car coming and pulled out of a side street in front of him. He had quite a bit of room (not optimal but the other car did have reaction time to slow down) but the guy had been speeding along (speeding in a residential area) and was annoyed and laid on the horn, scaring the crap out of my son.

I think that when we get all furious at other drivers' foibles, I wish people could put into their minds that for all we know, that other driver might be a young person who is learning (gotta learn somehow!), or someone who is in a very troubled headspace that day, someone experiencing pain or struggle, a little old person...we just don't know. And not one of us is 100% perfect, 100% of the time. We all have our stupid moments.

"But did you die?" No? Then chill out.

I usually just yell, "DUDE" at people who do dumb stuff on the road, and then let it go.

It's probably not a bad idea, but I'd wait until Friday or first thing Monday morning. Sometimes hiring committees get bogged down in administrative crap, and you want to balance seeming eager with not being pushy, you know?

Yeah, looking for a job is a drag. Luckily my first 2 "real" jobs I got were from people I knew. I didn't get my current job that way. I had to send out resumes and all of that jazz. I actually landed the job from Indeed.

It took awhile but if you keep plugging away sooner or later something shakes loose.
