Well, if you're wanting to have science-based religion and spirituality debates, everyone needs to be up to par on the element table. The element table is what some may call an example of faith as we have place holders for unknown elements..."we know they must be there because of how the other elements behave".
snj90 is a robotic acolyte of Matt "The Oil" Slick. The Christian apologist who is such a good role model, his daughter left home and declared her atheism as soon as she old enough.
And?... It's (belief) the reason you are here posting with conviction.
Yes, but belief based on what? Evidence. Probability, what can be predicted. It is the same with faith. I have faith a plane will not crash because they usually do not.
The game some religious people play is to pretend all faith / beliefs are equally likely when they are not. They try to minimize the actual evidence by pretending it is as valid as what they present as evidence.

Belief based on evidence and reason.

You nailed it. Right from my early days of wrangling with theist apologists, i noticed that they pretty much ignore weight of evidence and think in terms of 'believe - or not'.

Rachel was quite a role - model of the atheist progression. She studied the Bible at college in order to prove to another atheist (and herself) that it was reliable, true and believable. She found that it wasn't.

But the bias against anything God ensures that they will never find anything. You can't find what you refuse to look for. Consciousness is the phenomenon that IS God so I am confident that when we actually can measure and discover its field properties and content (where dark matter and dark energy reside), God will be undeniably revealed.
Mystic, you are starting to bore me. Your Projected accusation of closed -mindedness plus slapping the 'God' label on what is (so far as we know) better labelled 'Natural' isn't even funny anymore - like a joke that has been told far too often.

You are the one breaking the rule you and your cohort managed to con the powers that be into making to effectively silence me and my views about God, not me. Trying to bait me into breaking the rule should have been below even you, Arq. I am nonplussed and very disappointed. What is boring is the demand that God does NOT exist until proven to your satisfaction which you not only repeat far too often but also demand that everyone else accept as a "Given" in the inner consciousness.
