Can you honestly say that SA has more variety than Austin? Also that SA has better radio stations than Austin? Let's not forget that Austin has SXSW & Austin City Limits. What does SA have? We don't have any like that here.

You should really check out Austin. It has TONS of music flying around the air each and every week. Lots of rock shows are held weekly, Live bands with locals, Electronic Dance Music is OZZING through Austin at the moment. Spanish music is greatly influenced in all parts of austin, north, south, central, everywhere. They have SXSW & ACL like Txmusicgal stated. They have numerous events for EDM monthly, sometimes every week or every other week which is AMAZING!
Did you forget, Austin is the LIVE MUSIC CAPITAL of the World! How could you NOT be better then Sa with a title like that...?

R and B????

We'll, why does San Antonio not have an alternative rock station like 101 X in Austin.

Or why does it not have a latin pop/rock statio like other cities with large hispanic populations.

As far as I am concerned, all stations in SA are pretty and bad play the same music.

What about r&b? It stands for rhythm and blues. It's like soul music. R&B used to be well represented in the Top 40 until about five years ago.

The closest thing SA has to Alternative on the radio is 90.1 KSYM, or at night 91.7 KRTU from 10P-5A.

95.1 La Kalle is our Spanish Top 40 outlet

That's pretty much true in any market, but radio still gets loads of listeners.

I go to SA a couple of times a year and I remember there was like a 95 X that played latin pop, but this last time I was back there in November/December there was not one at all. 95.1 was playing spanish oldies if I remember correctly.

97.7 to me was good because but it essentialy sounded exactly like 99.5 KISS but without alll the commercials. I like these type of rock stations but would like more variety over the airwaves in SA.

Grammy award winning rock bands like MUSE do not even get played in San Antonio, at least not that I could find.

Okay, so 97.7 is giving away passes to to a One Republic concert? How is that "party" music?

That's funny I wouldn't consider that party music at all. I'm annoyed that One Republic & Lady GaGa are coming to SA on the same day. I want to go to both concerts but I can't be 2 places at once.

Seems to me like 80% of music stations in San Antonio are some kind of oldies or norteno music.
Also seems like there's more talk radio stations than pop music stations.
