From mysa.com:

The San Antonio metropolitan area's population grew to 2,194,927, adding an estimated 41,000 people, or 2 percent, between 2010 to 2011, according to census estimates released today, an update to the official 2010 Census.

“From 2000 to 2010, (San Antonio) had the largest numerical increase (in population) of any one of the 10 largest cities,” even more than New York City, Murdock said.

ooo i get to fence this one.

article quotes that 41k people were added between 2010 and 2011 right?

Bexar County births on decline - San Antonio Express-News

that article states that ~26,000 kids were born in 2010-2011 in bexar county. if kids were included in that 41k number, then the actual number of people moving here would be 15k.

According to the Census data, the total increase in population was 41,036. Of that, 17,486 was the net natural increase (31,812 births, 14,326 deaths). Net in-migration was 23,356, of which 19,515 was domestic and 3,841 was international.

As a footnote, we overtook Sacramento and moved up one place from the 25th to the 24th largest metro area.
