"With more than a week to go in the second-quarter earnings season, the health care industry has already banked more profits than any other quarter in the past year.
The bottom line: Company after company has posted profits that have exceeded Wall Street estimates, and most firms have raised profit estimates for the rest of 2018.

By the numbers: As of Aug. 2, 85 publicly traded health care companies have amassed $47 billion of global profit on $545 billion of global revenue in the second quarter, according to company documents

But the larger earnings also stemmed from Republican's massive cut in corporate taxes. The income tax expense for drug giant AbbVie, for example, was 93% lower in the second quarter this year."

Did you hate The ACA? That was a huge giveaway to insurance companies crafted by the lobbyists. They were guaranteed payments in the law.

Like I said before if the politicians on your side would be honest about cost cost and benefits then the American people could vote on the merits.

We NEVER get that.

The fact that people are using GoFundMe to raise money for their medical bills is proof that socialized medicine is not needed because individual generosity is alive and well.

Based on these two replies, I'm having trouble determining if you're trolling, or truly don't get it.

Either way...

Are you trolling man? Please use the /sarcasm if you are joking as it is hard to tell joking and tone on the internet.

So, is the prevailing idea locally that it is acceptable for all to have terrible health plans, as long as no one person or group has something better? That seems to be the thought process. Let's adopt some failed form of socialized medicine, or Medicare for all, drastically increasing costs, limiting access to care (rationing), extending wait times, running up an unsustainable deficit, just so some people don't have decent plans! Sort of like throwing the baby out with the bath water.

All for accessible health care for all, and covering those with pre-existing conditions, but socialized medicine is NOT the way forward. Lived it in the UK, and compared to here, it is a huge step backwards. If you want to see what socialized health care looks like, talk to any relatives that have had to deal with the VA.

It is so easy for some of the gravy train pensioners to judge the less fortunate.

I would rather have some type of preventative healthcare than none at all.

A lot of people have health problems and can only go to the E.R when it gets too bad.

Also statically countries with socialized are healthier overall than the USA.
