So you're trying to tell me how I should feel? Hmm. Interesting. I'm only here because I made a comment about how national media was trying to cause controversy and some of y'all decided to interpret that as tacit approval of the flag.

No, I think I'll stay, and breed. And bring all my friends here. And someday you'll be a relic.

No, the controversy was having it on top the statehouse. That was settled years ago by moving it to the grounds as a memorial. You'll find Confederate flags at every Confederate cemetery in the south. It also flies at the Confederate memorial in Arlington. Most southern state employees get Confederate Memorial Day off as well. The flag on the Capitol grounds is a dried out old topic being brought up by those who either want ratings or wants to give the killer's actions some meaning.

Although I have to admit, I always thought confederate memorial day is stupid.

Wouldn't a better idea be to start a new thread concerning the "NATIONAL MEDIA" and not the flag?

It was just one comment and then it got all blown out of proportion leading to this back and forth. Really, we should just let it go now. I'm willing if you are.

On the P&C's website, 59% want the flag down, 29% want it up. Hmm..

well it's up to the people of SC to decide. I think if the majority of people want to take it down, then down it should come. I doubt it would survive a popular vote. So put it to a referendum. I still can't believe it's up there. It's just... wow.

For me, I think it serves as a reminder of the kind of people SC residents elected to run the state. That is not intended to be a kind remark in any way.

Show me a picture of the flag flying in Arlington...
