France, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Finland and Norway come to mind. I really love most any northern European city. France for food and drink would probably be first on the list however. The quality is amazing. I have never been to New Zealand, but it sounds nice. I do like the idea of Europe because of access to so many wonderful places. I currently live in Pittsburgh, which is a pretty amazing city in itself to say the least. Probably one of the best places in the world if you factor in everything.

I see so many Canadas.

The topic should be more specific: would language be a factor (or do we assume we speak the local language with no barrier). Most people would be hesitant to move to a country with a completely new language.

The problem is I think every other country in the world is very liberal and hates guns. I think we are the only one left (at least for now) where private gun ownership isn't an extraordinary hassle.

My first choice would be Apennine Italy. Southeastern France, Andalusia Spain, or coastal Uruguay are distant second choices.
