Jimmy Fallon did a Downton Abbey spoof on his show Fri (April 13th). Pretty big production with the sets, costumes. It wasnt really that funny like most of his stuff but he did sort of nail the show. Brook Shields had a cameo and she wasn't even on the show as a guest.
CBS doesn't let stuff stay up on you tube so I don't know where you can catch it but for fans I think its worth a watch.

So the press representatives for the show, quoted by the NYT, are saying it's not true, and Rebecca Eaton, one of the executive producers (http://omg.yahoo.com/news/downton-abbey-season-3-death-195703632.html - broken link) is hinting that someone important will die. But who?

Quote:
"somebody will be born and somebody will die, somebody pretty key in the cast."
If it is Maggie Smith's character, and if they kill her in the finale, then the quote in the NYT would still be true...

Quote:
A press representative for Carnival Films said on Monday that the Daily Mail report was “complete nonsense,” adding, “We never comment on future story lines but it’s not true that she’s leaving.” Others were less definitive in their rebuttals: A press representative for Masterpiece, said that it did not discuss future stories on “Downton Abbey” and Ms. Smith’s representatives at Independent Talent Group in London declined to comment.
Or it could be another character entirely...

I agree. I also admire Elizabeth McGovern for not caving to Hollywood and going under the knife. It is SO refreshing to see actresses look natural for their age!
