Seattle Tacoma as of yesterday 26.4C. 30 year average is 24.2C. So a good deal above average

Yeah but the average certainly isn't 26.5C, which is what the poster was implying.

It's down to 21.9°C today. According to GFS and the BBC forecast looks like the final number will be 21.5~21.6°C, which is 2.6-7 above average. This may get us into the top 5 warmest Julys but I am not sure.

Well, it was definitely above-average by a significant margin. The mean max came in at 24.6C.

London ended up at 26.9C, 3.4C above average and the 3rd warmest July since 1948 when the station started recording (narrowly beating July 1976 by 0.3C).
