Really raw this morning, mid 40s, cloudy, windy and drizzly. Horrible early October weather; often this time of year gets very nice weather.

Frames are for Oct 9, 13, 15, 17. Storm after Storm showing up. This is going to be interesting if continues through winter. You can already see the Polar Jet Stream digging down. 540 line dropping south.
There goes Columbus Day weekend.

They don't do Columbus Day down here - just the postal workers and bank tellers get it off...lol.

I've never understood the point of celebrating that lame idiot anyhow...lol.

But yeah, bring on the troughs and storms - I really don't care to see a long sunny dry spell for quite some time.

I was just talking to someone about that. 40s late morning feels like end of November here. Feels like we went from Summer to Winter. Wonder if we'll have a short period of fall now. Maybe 1 month worth?

well, it's still a two day weekend for everyone. Was hoping to go hiking that weekend with a friend; fall colors would be close to peak in the mountains. Oh well. When do the Smokies peak?

I hope this is the case. I love stormy autumns. Some memorable October storms including this one.

I think it was mid-October 2009 or 2010 when we had a pretty strong nor'easter that dropped a lot of heavy rain, wind, and even had some record early snowfall here.

A bit off-topic about Columbus Day, so I will respond in the General Chat thread.

Forgot to mention..my type of winds today. Constant northeast gusts to 20mph with clouds. Definitely feels like November.

Clearing out the rest of garden right now...hands chilly. Lol. Feels like low-mid 40s.
