Rats, tarantulas, and rattle snakes...oh my!

The title of this blog is said in the spirit of the famous saying..."Lions and tigers and bears...oh my!" and could aptly describe my surprise to learn that the San Diego area not only has naturally occurring tarantulas and rattlesnakes but also RATS!

Lots of RATS!

Bear in mind that I came from rat free Alberta in Canada where there isn't a single rat!

The site of a rat in Alberta causes the government to go into motion to exterminate it like...

Range Bound Rates Continue

Mortgage backed securities continue to trade near the top of a narrow trading range. Even though Summer vacations are over and Wall Street has the first team back, volume remained rather light yesterday. Despite a brief rally following the auction of 3 year notes, mortgage rates remained unchanged on the day. The markets continue to look for direction which is holding MBS in the current range.

The Mortgage Bankers’ Association released the weekly applications index early this morning....

Factories as Models for Societies

Yesterday we walked the Newmar factory tour in Nappanee, IN. I was first touched by the Value plaque in their lobby, where they described the values of their Amish and Mennonite employees -- and how those values have contributed over the decades of the company's successes.
